» Aide: Obama didn’t deny requests for help in Benghazi

Retired Army Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer said his sources told him President Obama watched the attack from the Situation Room. It shouldn’t exactly be a bombshell to discover a president had been monitoring an ongoing attack on an ambassador and his detail — that’s exactly what we’d expect a president to do. However, the pickle for the administration is that the only way they can distance Obama from the “who denied requests for help” question is to allow everybody to believe that Obama wasn’t doing what everybody would expect a president to be doing under those circumstances: Closely monitoring the situation.

» The Media vs. America

At a recent conference sponsored by Accuracy in Media, Democratic pollster and pundit Pat Caddell said that the media is “the enemy of America.” He wasn’t kidding. While conceding the media’s longstanding liberal bias, Caddell said that media outlets “crossed some lines” recently. He specifically accused them of suppressing critical national security information following the deadly September 11 attack this year in Benghazi, Libya, merely to protect President Obama from embarrassment

The Benghazi episode is only the latest example of media malpractice. There are countless examples stretching back years. Bill Clinton’s end-run around presidential appointee background checks allowed the Communist Chinese widespread access to critical classified military technology, a story the media largely ignored to our great peril …. Even media preoccupation with Clinton’s sexual scandals sought to downplay them and ridicule his enemies. Suppressed stories from the 2008 elections could fill books, and they have.

….

America is facing a crisis of misinformation from an unscrupulous minority bent on replacing our republican form of government with its largely self-serving socialist vision. We are funding much of this with our own tax dollars. That funding should dry up. If the Left wants to participate in the marketplace of ideas, it can do so on its own dime.

Pundits characterize the mass media as “in the tank” for Obama, or Clinton, or whoever is the anointed left-wing public figure of the day. But the media is not “in the tank” for anyone. Leftists strategize endlessly on how to capture and manipulate public opinion, whether it be in media, or public institutions or on college campuses. They are proactive and relentless. The media don’t follow anyone. To the contrary, today’s mass media executives are key leaders in the far left movement. Everything they do is calculated on the prospects for capturing hearts and minds. They are not opposed to deception, and we should not be entirely surprised at the lengths to which they will go.

» Stand Down Obama and Biden, Stand Down

The latest news coming out about the murder of our ambassador and three other brave Americans in Ben Ghazi is so horrifying and shocking I can take no pleasure in writing about it. It’s still largely unreported by the legacy media. Fox News has been a leader and there’s been some coverage at CNN by Anderson Cooper, but PBS and the alphabets have been doing their best to keep from you the incompetence, treachery and outrageous behavior of the President, Vice President, Secretaries of State and Defense.

» A Fundamental Threat to American Democracy and Enemies of the American People

Not all Democrats are treasonous reprobates. But those who aren’t are starting to bail on a party that under Obama has degenerated into an obscenity. For example, Pat Caddell looks about ready to choke on his disgust while discussing Obama’s disgraceful bungling of the terror attack in Benghazi and the “mainstream” media’s equally disgraceful attempts to cover for him. Last night on Jeanine Pirro’s show he provided an apt description of the Obamunists running both the government and the establishment media

» Instead of Exposing Libya Bombshell, ABC Hypes ‘Mystery Monkey’ and Yawning Dogs

ABC News has mostly ignored the blockbuster revelation that the Obama White House knew, within hours, about the terrorist connection to the September 11, 2012 attack in Libya. Instead, shows such as World News and Good Morning America have focused their attention on more pressing subjects, such as yawning dogs, “mystery monkeys” and a woman who only eats three different foods.

» SCANDAL COMPARISON CHART: Benghazi-gate vs. Valerie Plame

I don’t need to be lectured by the likes of you — who made “Valerie Plame” a household term — when a U.S. ambassador and three other personnel are dead, when the president lied for days about how they were killed, and when we can’t find out why they were refused help, because the man ostensibly in charge refuses to take serious interviews and the White House Briefing Room has been closed for more than two weeks.

The mainstream media is our enemy. We’ve had four years to reprimand them for their blatant bias.
That time is past.

It is now time to punish.

» Why this libertarian is voting Romney, with enthusiasm

…. it is admittedly tempting for a libertarian voter to fill in the oval for Johnson, the former New Mexico Governor. Johnson is far and away the best candidate the LP has ever put forward, and would make an excellent president. But the bottom line is this: Gary Johnson is not going to be elected president on November 6. Either Mitt Romney or Barack Obama will have that honor and burden. So I don’t have to choose between Romney and Johnson. I’m choosing between Romney and Obama …..

» Internal emails: Treasury officials held 2009 backroom bailout meeting on Delphi pension plans

Internal Treasury Department emails obtained by The Daily Caller show that in June 2009 a high-ranking Treasury official planned a backroom meeting to discuss the pension plans for 20,000 nonunion Delphi salaried retirees.

Those retirees lost between 30 and 70 percent of their pensions, as well as their healthcare, life insurance and other benefits. Unionized employees working alongside them, however, saw their pensions and benefits made whole.

» The Liberal Man’s Burden

The moral empire proves even more fragile than the physical empire, for it depends on the export of virtues. And for those virtues which cannot be exported, American soldiers go to the cities and deserts of other lands and mark them with their living and dead. And for those virtues, teachers, aid workers, diplomats and a thousand others go to export the unexportable, they try to bring Mozart to Pakistan and rather than learning to compose symphonies, the natives kill Mozart and leave his body in a ditch.

» Transcript of the 2012 Walter Berns Constitution Day lecture: Spending, public debt, and constitutional design

“No man,” Jefferson wrote, “can, by natural right, oblige . . . the persons who succeed him . . . to the paiment of debts contracted by him.”

Suppose Louis XV. and his co[n]temporary generation had said to the money-lenders of Genoa, give us money that we may eat, drink, and be merry in our day; and on condition you will demand no interest till the end of 19. years you shall then for ever after receive an annual interest of 125/8 per cent. The money is lent on these conditions, is divided among the living, eaten, drank, and squandered. Would the present generation be obliged to apply the produce of the earth and of their labour to replace their dissipations? Not at all.[1]

Jefferson was on to something.

» Panetta or Marines?

You won’t find a more jarring contrast than the Marines on one hand and on the other, the communist-affiliated Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta making excuses for the inexcusably gutless Fundraiser in Chief

….
Nothing could be more wrong than heroes left hanging in the breeze in places like Afghanistan and Libya due to the cowardice and fecklessness of the moonbats infesting the executive branch.

» Compare and Contrast

On a lazy Saturday afternoon, I find myself casually cruising the political sites and taking the time to read through the comments. As per usual, I come across a drone spouting the usual anti-Bush rhetorical dreck, slapped him down, and pondered a compare-and-contrast scenario.

The comment thread was regarding the debate, and the drone was spouting the typical “lies” and “crimes” nonsense. It was the “crimes” that got me thinking ………
