» The Right to Open Carry Guns: Use It or Lose It

Whenever someone must buy a license or pay a fee to exercise a right, then it is something less than a right. It is in fact a mere privilege, subject to the whim of petty bureaucrats.
…. Much like a muscle that atrophies with disuse, any right that goes unexercised for many years devolves into a privilege, and eventually can even be redefined as a crime.

I applaud the folks who open carry in states where it is legal, but where it is still frowned upon. This is principled patriotism, in action. Some might consider this merely grandstanding, but it is not! Rather, it is an important educational process, both for the public at large and for our public servants

Imagine a conversation between prison cell mates.

    – I got three years for raping a six year old girl. What you in for?
    – I exercised my 2nd amendment right to own a gun and defend myself …. in my own home

There are those who recall a once great nation. One in which the government feared abridging liberty for the backlash it would cause. There has been an unhealthy lack of fear in these recent decades.

» LIST: Here are the 20 Obamacare Turncoats in the U.S. Senate

These senators want voters to know they oppose Obamacare, but they aren’t willing to do what is necessary to actually stop it. They give lip service to conservative principles, but won’t make real sacrifices to deliver for the American people.

Let’s be clear: Touré holds black men up to a different (lower or higher, not sure) standard when they criticize the President. He expects black people to think a certain way and pounces when they step out of line and express a different set of ideas than what Touré believes they should believe, due to their skin color. Because Carson is a black man, he is therefore the beneficiary of affirmitive action, in Touré’s mind, and if he dares to present an opposing view from MSNBC’s Obamadoxy, he is an Uncle Tom and betrayer of his race.
Touré has a special contempt for black men who criticize President Obama. There may be many different interpretations of the definition of racial prejudice and/or racism, but my understanding of racism is that it is the belief that humans are divided into distinct groups based upon their skin color and genetic make-up, and those groups are expected to behave and think in certain ways (inferior or superior) solely based upon their race. Touré’s special loathing of Dr. Carson may not be based upon his race, but it certainly appears to be. And if that doesn’t fall under the description of racism, then I would really appreciate it if Touré could explain the distinction to me, because I’m having trouble seeing it.

» Night Falls on Civilization

Earth Hour shows how far we have come from celebrating human accomplishment to celebrating the lack of accomplishment as an accomplishment. For all the pretense of activism, environmentalism celebrates inaction. Don’t build, don’t create and don’t do– are its mandates. Turn off the lights and feel good about how much you aren’t doing right now.

Like all environmental gimmicks, Earth Hour is perverse and hypocritical. Far more energy is consumed promoting it, then is saved by practicing it.
The most active non-Muslim domestic terrorist group is environmental. The undercurrent of violence finds easy purchase in environmentalism’s creed that the only real problem with the world is people. No amount of turning off the lights is enough. Eventually you come around to having to turn off the people.

» WARMAL COLDING: United Kingdom suffers longest winter in 50 years, deep freeze said responsible for 5,000 deaths

» It’s payback time for our insane energy policy

An obsession with CO2 has left us dangerously short of power as coal-powered stations are forced to close.

As the snow of the coldest March since 1963 continues to fall, we learn that we have barely 48 hours’ worth of stored gas left to keep us warm, and that the head of our second-largest electricity company, SSE, has warned that our generating capacity has fallen so low that we can expect power cuts to begin at any time. It seems the perfect storm is upon us.
The grotesque mishandling of Britain’s energy policy by the politicians of all parties, as they chase their childish chimeras of CO2-induced global warming and windmills, has been arguably the greatest act of political irresponsibility in our history.

…. we are doomed to see Britain’s lights going out, all because the feather-headed lunatics in charge of our energy policy still believe that they’ve got to do something to save the planet from that CO2-induced global warming which this weekend has been covering much of the country up to a foot deep in snow.

» Why can’t Republicans enforce law against Harry Reid?

If it is against the law for Congress not to pass a budget (and it is), and if Harry Reid is violating that law (and he is), then why can’t something be done about it? Why can’t Reid be charged with something?
The answer is the law requiring Congress to pass an annual budget, the Congressional Budget Act of 1974, doesn’t have an enforcement mechanism. Lawmakers are required by law to pass a budget each year by April 15, but there’s no provision to punish them, or even slightly inconvenience them, if they don’t. In Reid’s case, the Senate last passed a budget in April 2009, 1,351 days ago as of Wednesday.

» Atlantic Wire suggests NRA threatened from surprising direction

We’ve reported on Defense Distributed a number of times before, a group which aims to offer 3D-printable weapons components for free online. The group already has a search engine available, including plans for a lower receiver and grip for an AR-15. . . . Meaning that the only roadblock to broadly distributed, hard-to-regulate gun ownership is a piece of technology that, over time, will almost certainly become commonplace.

How is that a problem for the NRA? Atlantic Wire’s reasoning is that when people can “print” their own guns, they will no longer need a lobbying powerhouse defending their right to buy them.

Well, it’s an interesting read at least.
But frankly, I dont have much confidence that I’ll be able to print an AR15 anytime soon … or ever. I have no doubt that the technology already exists and will improve to the point that a functional gun is a possible product, however it is foolish to place any hope in a dream of printing out a gun if you ever need one.

I wish this to be the last time I hear about 3d printed guns. It’s an excuse to not fight as hard against the leftist commies that fully intend to completely disarm the American people. If they succeed in mooting the 2nd amendment (and thereby, the entire constitution), only a fool believes we will have access to anything the government doesn’t control – including a printer that can produce a gun.

Because, still, no EPA employee asses have been stomped in public ….
» The EPA spiraling out of control

if any town in New Hampshire does not produce a written reply with objections to the specifications of this enormous complicated packet of rules and regulations proposed by the EPA by April 15th that town would forfeit their ability to defend itself from any future onerous EPA penalties that could reach $37,500 per day for each violation of the EPA proposed rules.

…. in the state of Virginia a coalition of communities had sued the EPA over these regulations and won in court. The Judge ruled that these EPA rules were arbitrary, unreasonable, and extremely costly. The EPA did not appeal.

» EPA illegally collects personal farm data, then releases it to environmental extremist groups

Extremist environmental activist groups filed a FOIA request with the EPA and received private information, including home addresses, phone numbers and e-mails on farmers all over the country. The concern is these activist groups will use this data to threaten or bully farmers
…. How did the EPA get this private data? In short they created a rule based on the Clean Water Act that allowed them to collect this data by forcing large livestock and poultry operations to get Clean Water Act permits simply because they ‘might’ discharge into waterways. But they were forced to drop the rule after being slapped down by a federal appeals court for overstepping their authority. But the EPA still gathered the data anyway, getting it from state water agencies without fully disclosing to those agencies why they were collecting it

» Twitter serves up delicious mockery of Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s starving staff

Important survival advice for DWS staffers:
1. Start with two slices of bread.
2. Spread peanut butter on one side.
3. Spread jelly on the other.
4. Put the peanut butter side and the jelly side together.
5. Make sure that neither the peanut butter nor the jelly are on the outside.
6. Wrap the result in plastic.
7. Take it to work and eat it at noon.
8. Quit whining.

Better remind them to remove the plastic wrap before they eat the sandwich.

I wouldn’t remind ’em. Just sayin’…

But they might choke …. oh.
