What do you call it when the President and his Attorney General insist on threatening and badgering citizens in matters that's none of their business?

I calls it Clobberin' Time.

DEFIANT: "Now it's time to take the gloves off," Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said Thursday.

Sounds like the sheriff agrees.

Today the U.S. Justice Department sued Sheriff Joe Arpaio, again. This time alleging discrimination, unconstitutional searches and having English-only policies in his jails that discriminate against those who possess limited English skills.

» George Clooney Says Darfur Involvement 'Greatest Failure of My Life'

Clooney and his journalist father Nick smuggled cameras into the Darfur refugee camps four years ago to show the impact of the civil war that is estimated to have killed more than 300,000.

Since then, Clooney said little has changed.

Putting aside the fact that Clooney is a lefty radical moonbat, I can say that his heart is in the right place in regards to Darfur. Unfortunately, like too many sniveling liberals, his brain don't work nowhere near as good as his heart - he's trying to fix something without understanding why it's broken. His ignorance of the causes of the Darfur tragedy doomed his efforts from the start.

Instead of placing the blame on the root causes, liberals naturally assume that if anything's rotten in the world it has to be America's fault. That assumption blinds them and prevents them from taking real productive action.

Darfur is about islam and racism. It's about arab muslims vs negro muslims - and as usual, the arabs are not all that loving of their brethren in allah.

So taking pictures of refugees don't do diddly to help the situation as long as you allow the genocide to continue.

Wake up, George. If America is to save Darfur, we will have to send Marines not cameras. We would have to stomp mudholes in arabs, not take their pictures.

But those mean ole Marines just dont fit into your perfect little world, do they?

The modern left is an explicit enemy of the Constitution. The modern left dominates the Democrat Party. And that is why the Democrat Party must be wiped from the political landscape in November. And in every election henceforth.

» UCLA Cans Professor James Enstrom for Thought Crimes

Under a hard tyranny, if professional intellectuals fail to toe the official line, they are imprisoned or killed. What happens to them in a soft tyranny?
...
One month after coauthoring an op-ed for Forbes.com expressing his concerns with these obviously pernicious regulations, Enstrom got a letter stating that he was getting canned because his "research is not aligned with the academic mission of the Department."

That academic mission: to help the moonbats running California use faulty science and phony environmentalist posturing to destroy the state's economy, with the rest of the country soon to follow it down the drain. Out of the ruins will arise a collectivist utopia, in which the inequalities unavoidably associated with freedom will never trouble us again, and enlightened experts will make all our decisions for us. Surely such a glorious end justifies any means.

» Don’t ever complain to me about the money spent on Iraq, again

For years -years!- under George W. Bush, the Democrats and their Leftist allies cried rivers of crocodile tears over the money being spent to first liberate, then stabilize that land. They claimed so often and so loudly to be worried about the debts incurred and the deficits run, that they convinced the electorate that they would actually be better stewards of the public’s money, and partly for that were given control of Congress in 2006.

In less than two years, the Democrats have made spending on the war in Iraq look like pocket change:

» Beck's 'Obsession' with Black Liberation Theology Thoroughly Justified

That Glenn Beck is now reviving this issue and spreading a little truth on Obama's bold religious claims makes liberals understandably nervous. » What Recession? Michelle Obama Wears $635 Shoes on $4000 Per Night Hawaii Vacation
Why should we care how much the First Wookie pays for a pair of silly lookin' shoes? Are we indulging in a little class envy?

Context. It's the context, stupid.

Obama has lectured Americans about how they can not expect to live their lives as indulgently as they have in the past. He has lectured businesses about their travel and pay.

It's not class envy ... it's class contempt. We have boiling contempt for the class of parasite that is currently sucking the life out of our Republic. The parasites have the audacity to tell us we have to tighten our belts, do without AC, give up our automobiles ... and stop resisting the fundamental transformation. The Parasite in Chief takes a moment or two, once in a while, to step outside the current celeb-commie infested whitehouse party, wipe $2000 worth of grease off his purple lips and launch into a teleprompted speech about how us spoiled brat American commoners have got to change our lifestyles.

Barack Obama enjoys living like a king, so why shouldn't Michelle Obama live like a queen?

The First Lady was photographed last night in Hawaii wearing $635 per pair designer shoes by Maison Martin Margiela.

The shoe style is called "Leather open toe flat pumps." It features a "thin nude leather strap across the top of the toe."

A woman lucky enough to have a job in this economy and working for the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour would have to work 88 hours (without taxes taken out) to make enough to pay for Michelle Obama's shoes. If she can get them on sale, they would only set her back $445 for 62 hours work.

The Obamas are staying at an $8.9 million estate for an estimated $4000 per night. To cover the Obama's ten night stay, the minimum wage worker would have to work two-and-a-half years (before taxes) to come up with the $40,000 Obama is reportedly laying out.

...

The news media has yet to call him out on his extravagance when there is 10% unemployment with no sign of the employment picture improving this coming year.

So yeah, it is a big whoop. While the Obamas enjoy a week vacation ... every 7 days ... they stand in $600 shoes to lecture us about our decadence.

Armed and Dangerously Defiant
» Island evacuations start as Earl nears

Gov. Bev Perdue declared a state of emergency ...

I'm not arguing the necessity of declaring a state of emergency. It's a big hurricane, and the two week aftermath of hurricane Fran made a lasting impression on me.

I do have a problem with one aspect of the state of emergency. Having been under the control of statist dhimmicrats for far too long, the state of North Carolina is burdened with an extensive collection of stupid legislations - not the least of which if General Statute 14-288.7. That little unconstitutional piece of bigotry makes it illegal for me to carry a gun off my property this morning - because of the declared state of emergency.

It matters not that the sky is blue, the air is calm and the forecasters say my county will see almost none of the effects of Earl. It matters not that I have a concealed carry permit. It matters not that my right to keep and bear arms is guaranteed by the United States Constitution.

When I roll out the end of my driveway in a few minutes ... I will be an outlaw. So what's the point in stopping for all those mindless traffic lights? Heck, might as well go for broke ... I'm not even gonna wear a seatbelt.

Last night Obama delivered a speech about a war that he exploited for political advantage during the election, and ignored the rest of the time. A war that he tried to sabotage as a Senator, and neglected once in the White House. Where Bush conducted constant conferences with commanders in the field, Obama has let the clashing egos of former Clinton Administration staffers, and a few imported radicals, determine how the war will be conducted. Of all the charges leveled at Bush over the war, he could never be accused of just not giving a damn. Yet that is exactly the case with Obama. He just doesn't give a damn.

Dont Feed the Moonbats ... (Sept 1, 2010)

John Cusack Calls for 'Satanic Death' of Fox News, GOP Leaders

Actor John Cusack went on a caustic Twitter rampage Sunday evening, attacking former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Fox News.

“I AM FOR A SATANIC DEATH CULT CENTER AT FOX NEWS HQ AND OUTSIDE THE OFFICES ORDICK ARMEYAND NEWT GINGRICH-and all the GOP WELFARE FREAKS,” Cusack tweeted.

Cusack has long been outspoken about politics. He supported Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election and has contributed to The Huffington Post, but this is the first known time he has stooped to the level of making threats.

“John Cusack has to know that his words carry weight because he is an actor beloved by many generations of folks who may not get his humor and might think he is calling for something more sinister. The responsibility is on him to not abuse his fame to influence something negative on the off chance that even one person takes his words to heart,”

That was a carefully worded semi-condemnation, was it not? Just for pure clarity let me be more specific:

Cusak does know his words could spark action by his rabid dog fans ... he's counting on it ... hoping for it. As a blue ribbon winner of the Hugo Chavez Butt-Kissing Championships, Cusak the traitor, Cusak the Commie would very much like to personally do the job of killing Fox newsers, Gingrich and Armey ....
But he lacks the stones to do it himself. He's much more comfortable inciting his like-minded but dispensable dupe-fans to do his dirty deeds for him.

Look, do yourself a big favor. When purchasing entertainment, read the list of names involved BEFORE you read the title and plot descriptions.
When you see the name Cusak on a product ... throw it down. Walk away.

Dont allow any of your money to be used by communist traitors like Cusak. Don't think of it as a boycott ... it's a matter of principle, pure and simple.

Mosque de Triomph
» What's in a Word?

"Dawa" may be an unfamiliar word to you. It is to most Americans, but we had better learn to understand it for it is almost certainly the motivation behind the drive to build the "Ground Zero" mosque in Manhattan.

...the name of the proposed mosque-community center ... Cordoba House, is derived from the Cordoba, Spain mosque built on the ruins of a Catholic church after the Muslim conquest of Spain in the 8th Century. The Christians reconquered Spain in 1492 and Islam lost "al Andalus."

This is one of the "humiliations" that ardent Muslims want to avenge. Thus, the name "Cordoba House" stands for "conquest" and the siting of it is an example of dawa in action: Islamist triumphalism.
...
Their is no Muslim constituency in lower Manhattan. Mayor Bloomberg and President Obama missed the point of Cordoba House entirely. It is not a matter of religious freedom or property rights. It is a matter of appropriateness. If it is allowed to be built virtually next door to Ground Zero, it will be dawa's greatest triumph in the United States to date.

Well, how interesting! It seems the U.S. Department of Justice has changed its website. Gone are the colorful red, white and blue U.S. flag decorations on the page, replaced by stark black and white.

And at the top of the page, is a rather interesting quote:
"The common law is the will of mankind, issuing from the life of the people."

Catchy, huh? Just one tiny little (too small to be relevant obviously) point -- the quote is from C. Wilfred Jenks, who in the 1930's was a leading proponent of the "international law" movement, which had as its goal to impose a global common law and which backed ‘global workers' rights.'

Call it Marxism, call it Progressivism, call it Socialism -- under any of those names it definitely makes the DOJ look corrupt in their sleek, new black website with Marxist accessories to match.

» Boehner: 'Stimulus' Spending Sprees Have Failed Our Veterans

The Obama White House is in a hurry to claim credit for our troops’ success in Iraq – success made possible by the surge strategy then-Sen. Obama opposed as a candidate for president. The President has taken ownership of the flagging economy, but when will he get serious about creating jobs and cutting spending, and specifically address the unemployment rate among American veterans, which now stands at 11 percent, above the already-high national rate of 9.5 percent?

I have to take issue with the question "... when will he get serious about creating jobs", and I'm getting tired of Republicans using that argument. They, and the dhimmicrats, should know that the president cannot and should not create jobs. Government created jobs are useless.

The private sector can and will create real productive jobs when the government gets out of the way ... when the government gets of their backs ... when the government ceases to feed on them.

» What say you, SEIU, AFL-CIO and AFSCME members? Do you want a check for $1,000? Or more of your money wasted on Democrat losers?

Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) -- will spend about $100 million supporting Democrats in the 2010 midterms. In addition, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union (AFSCME) will donate an additional $50 million to the Democrat cause.

Not only do they think you're stupid, they think their members are even dumber. After all, that money could be spent on member benefits. Like a $1,000 check for 150,000 members. Or putting some money into the dramatically underfunded pensions.

Our Daily Knish
» The Media Loses Readers and Viewers to its Own Radicalism

... turning over This Week to Christiane Amanpour is part of the growing blend of ABC News and the BBC.

The question though is who is Christiane Amanpour meant to appeal to? To viewers who wanted another foreign talking head snootily reading the news at them, not to them. Who were desperately longing for an ABC News on air personality sympathetic to Islamic terrorists? And why would those people even bother with ABC News, when they already have the BBC.
...
The left is furiously blasting Washington Post TV Critic Tom Shales for stating what was obvious to everyone, that Amanpour is out of place, completely clueless about US politics and insists on internationalizing domestic issues.
...
When the left turned magazines, newspapers and TV news into its own bully pulpit, they helped drive away consumers, while locking up those same publications and broadcasts into a liberal ghetto, that was still not liberal enough for them. As print publications increasingly turn their websites into masses of blogs, it becomes hard to tell the difference between Time Magazine, Foreign Policy and the New York Times-- and the Huffington Post and Daily Kos. All of them have angry left wing bloggers denouncing Republicans, America and Israel. The difference is that the official media outlets have more prominent names like Joe Klein or Robert Mackey blogging for them.
...
The left's hijacking of American culture has turned institutions into rags and rubble, and it will only get worse. Because the left does not know when to stop. Does not understand that it should stop. That is why left wing revolutions that do succeed, eventually culminate in multiple levels of purges that exterminate many of the original revolutionaries, or send them off to fight and die somewhere else, turning them into convenient martyrs who look good on blood-red T-shirts.

» U.N. Human Wrongs

The U.S. State Department is holding up Arizona as America's human rights problem, fishing for applause from the likes of Cuba and Libya. But Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer isn't taking it lying down.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton managed to go lower than even Andrew Young in his Carter-era heyday by holding up Arizona as a human rights violator in its groveling "Universal Periodic Review" for the U.N.'s Human Rights Commission.

...
What it adds up to is an Obama administration that seeks to take its political battles to questionable forums like the U.N., using dissident states as its villains. It's a nasty abrogation of the U.S. duty to speak out on real human rights and, in the end, will only give comfort to tyrants and criminals.

» The Tillman Story

"Lies" are of course of many kinds, and the kind that were told to the family of Corporal Tillman by the Army, regrettable though they may be, seem to me to be far more benign and forgivable than the ones now being told -- or, more often, insinuated -- by the propagandists against America's wars on terrorism. Throughout his piece, Mr. Karpel suggests that propaganda is ipso facto wrong and dishonest, irrespective of the war it serves. It may be so, but you'd think he would at least give a nod to the question of whether or not it is possible to fight a war without it. If, as I suspect, it is not, then it leads me to believe that the anti-war propagandists are, in fact, pacifists who oppose propaganda for the same reason that they oppose war: not because of any considered assessment of the justice or necessity of any particular conflict but because their aim is simply to make war, any war, impossible. Theirs is the attitude of those who sport the bumper-sticker, "I'm already against the next war."

Of course what they will prevent, if they are successful, is not war but the defense of America, which has a long, rich and, some would say, suicidal tradition of indulgence towards those of its own citizens who oppose its self-defense. Such people, insofar as they have any influence in the world, can only prevent us from fighting back, not our enemies from attacking us. They are still in thrall to the old hippie pseudo-profundity, "What if they gave a war and nobody came?" But we know very well what would happen if "they" gave a war and "nobody" came. "They" would win and the clever nobodies who think they can avoid it by not showing up would lose. Losing a war obviously holds no terrors for them, but we might want to ask somebody who has lost one -- a South Vietnamese, a Cambodian, an Iraqi Shi'ite after the first Gulf War, for example -- how they feel about it before the rest of us accept such defeatism and insouciance as our national defense policy.

The British philosopher Roger Scruton has coined a term to describe this attitude: oikophobia. " What a perfect description of the pro-mosque left.

Scruton was writing in 2004, and his focus was on Britain and Europe, not America. But his warning about the danger of oikophobes--whom he amusingly dubs "oiks"--is very pertinent on this side of the Atlantic today, and it illuminates how what are sometimes dismissed as mere matters of "culture" tie in with economic and social policy

After all, we're allowing our government(s) to rob us blind in preparation for global warming ; for which there is Zero (0) evidence.

NASA said that a recent report by the National Academy of Sciences found that if a similar storm occurred today, it could cause "1 to 2 trillion dollars in damages to society's high-tech infrastructure and require four to 10 years for complete recovery"...

They claim satellites will be aged by 50 years, rendering GPS even more useless than ever, and the blast will have the equivalent energy of 100 million hydrogen bombs.

The Ground Zero Mosque debate is only the latest in a long series of incidents in which liberals have chosen to side with Islamists, while denying their victims a fair hearing or any hearing at all. Opponents of the mosque are painted as "Islamophobic Extremists" representing nothing but bigotry and hate. This is much the same way that the liberal cultural elite has placed the blame for over a thousand years of Muslim persecution of Jews on "Zionist Extremism". While a Koran in the toilet becomes a front page story, the ongoing persecution of Hindus, Zoroastrians and Christians in Muslim countries is only a footnote in the State Department's human rights report.

Libertarians are having a leftist-style love affair with Islam. They defend Islam while trashing America as the violent oppressor of Muslims, the Middle East, and freedom. And they side with Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf against the Ground Zero mosque protesters, saying America caused 9/11 and “the Imam is right” in his claims that “America has more blood on its hands than al Qaeda.”

The radical libertarians at Daily Paul, a site dedicated to Ron Paul, the GOP’s Howard Dean, are the worst. The NRA has lost membership this year because of their willingness to compromise and make deals with socialists. Gun Owners Of America were quick to denounce the NRA. » EPA Considering Ban on Traditional Ammunition ? Take Action Now

Ask a liberal, ask a dhimmicrat; are you trying to ban guns? No, of course we're not - (anymore). They're just gonna ban the bullets.

With the fall hunting season fast approaching, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under Lisa Jackson, who was responsible for banning bear hunting in New Jersey, is now considering a petition by the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) ? a leading anti-hunting organization ? to ban all traditional ammunition under the Toxic Substance Control Act of 1976, a law in which Congress expressly exempted ammunition. If the EPA approves the petition, the result will be a total ban on all ammunition containing lead-core components, including hunting and target-shooting rounds. The EPA must decide to accept or reject this petition by November 1, 2010, the day before the midterm elections.

Today, the EPA has opened to public comment the CBD petition. The comment period ends on October 31, 2010.

NSSF urges you to stress the following in your opposition:

* There is no scientific evidence that the use of traditional ammunition is having an adverse impact on wildlife populations.

* Wildlife management is the proper jurisdiction of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the 50 state wildlife agencies.

* A 2008 study by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on blood lead levels of North Dakota hunters confirmed that consuming game harvested with traditional ammunition does not pose a human health risk.

* A ban on traditional ammunition would have a negative impact on wildlife conservation. The federal excise tax that manufacturers pay on the sale of the ammunition (11 percent) is a primary source of wildlife conservation funding. The bald eagle’s recovery, considered to be a great conservation success story, was made possible and funded by hunters using traditional ammunition ? the very ammunition organizations like the CBD are now demonizing.

* Recent statistics from the United States Fish and Wildlife Service show that from 1981 to 2006 the number of breeding pairs of bald eagles in the United States increased 724 percent. And much like the bald eagle, raptor populations throughout the United States are soaring.

Steps to take:

1. Submit comment online to the EPA.

2. Contact Lisa Jackson directly to voice your opposition to the ban:

Lisa P. Jackson
Administrator, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
1200 Pennsylvania Ave., NW
Washington, DC 20460
(202) 564-4700
Fax: (202) 501-1450
Email: jackson.lisa@epa.gov

3. Contact your congressman and senators and urge them to stop the EPA from banning ammunition.

» …And So It Begins

In the process of conquest, one of the most important strategies of the radical Islamist is the ability to operate without raising much interest and/or suspicion among the American people. Achieving success without fanfare is at the core of the movement directed at slowly eroding the very fibers of our society.

As much as the American people have to endure the appearance of spokespeople from organizations like CAIR (Council of American-Islamic Relations) on the screens of our News outlets, the work that organizations like CAIR have done has remained fairly unknown to the vast majority of the people, and certainly by design.
...
for the MSM, the most important concern is to shore up Obama’s approval rating among Americans, which has been steadily taking a severe beating in the last few weeks. Obama’s stand on the mosque issue has only aggravated the situation, making the job of the President’s apologists that much more difficult and desperate.

What the American people must realize is that radical Islam is working its magic to slowly subvert every belief that we may hold dear by using our own Constitution, which they are aiming at replacing with Shariah law, and the ever-present sense of tolerance typical of American society.

Islam is working through deception and subterfuge, hiding behind legitimate legal statutes, at times, while actively trying to destroy the same.

Most have not a clue how hard it is to pump oil out of the ground, grow food, or build a bridge; all such largess is taken as givens, and produced by a money-grubbing distant “they” who like this sort of icky, retrograde work. America is always to be judged in the abstract, never in the sense of “compared to what?”

imagine a 3-bedroom, 2-bath house-type neighborhood in a so-so location. Suddenly this new mega-salesman moves in (1776-2010 is new). He tears down about four tract houses, and plops down in their place a faux-Florentine palazzo McMansion, as crass as it is comfortable. It towers over the rest and is full of glitzy appliances, with a five-care garage and pool, fake columns and domes — the whole bit. Then the proud new owner walks nightly down the neighborhood sidewalk with his white tennis shoes and a baseball cap, and smiling with his hand out-stretched, blaring out now and then to strangers — in sincere and heartfelt fashion as the nice guy he is — “How are you fellows doing? Real nice to meet you. Call me if I can help at all.”

I doubt the impressed neighborhood crowd would say, “Thanks so much. Please show me how you made such money to buy such an impressive house.” More likely at night, local youths would throw trash on the lawn, and spray graffiti on his stone wall — while during the day their parents would finagle how to marry at least one of them off to the rich salesman’s pom-pom daughters.

The title of the article makes it sound like it's the first time an illegal 'managed' to vote.

» In Touch: Deb Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL) proclaims "the recession is over"

For months now, WaSchultz has been proclaiming the success of the Obama Democrats' economic leadership. Plus health care. She really likes socialized health care.

So what can you and I do? Support Karen Harrington for Congress. Seriously, donate a few bucks.

» For Obamacare supporters, judgment day approaches

Say you're a Democratic member of Congress. You proudly cast your vote for Obamacare, you cheered when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi hailed it as the achievement of a generation and you scoffed at Republicans who vowed to repeal it. Now you're running for re-election, and a voter asks: What is the most important thing you've done in the last two years?

The answer should be easy. In passing the national health care bill, you accomplished something your party dreamed of for decades. It was your most important vote, and now is the time to take credit for it.

Except it's not.

» Obama Hauls Arizona Before the UN Human Rights Council

Apparently Barack Obama is not content to make a federal case out of his immigration feud with Arizona; he just made it an international one.
...
The president’s first-ever report on U.S. human rights to the UN Human Rights Council contains a rich vein of offensive material. So far, one aspect has not been reported: our petty president used the situation to bash Arizona’s immigration law — and possibly transfer jurisdiction over the law from Arizona to the UN
...
On November 5, the United States will be examined by a troika of UN bureaucrats from France, Japan, and Cameroon
...
“The Human Rights Council will decide on the measures it would need to take in case of persistent non-cooperation by a State with the” World Body.

» Stoned — and other thoughts on Muslim rule

In America, being stoned is a good thing: it’s hip, it’s cool, it’s “real.” Being stoned in Islamic culture has a whole different meaning.

Critical Knish Mass
» Electing Another People

It is that season again when the high and mighty among the Fourth Estate gaze down in disgust from their skyscraper office windows, and contemplate their onerous task of educating the unruly rabble. From his luxurious digs on Martha's Vineyard, the son of a Muslim Kenyan diplomat and the grandson of the Vice-President of the Bank of Hawaii, turns away from the east for a moment, and regards the West. Those vast stretches of land beneath the setting sun, full of towns and villages of people clinging to their guns, religion and refusal to do what they're told. And he sighs. Soon he will have to go back and deal with them again. Too soon. What is it with those Americans anyway?

» Obama Misreads Message of ‘Live Free or Die’

The nation doesn’t have to wait for the Obama experiment to finish to learn the outcome

» Inventing Moderate Islam

So it is worth letting it sink in that this most influential of Islam’s voices, this promoter of the Islamic enclaves the Brotherhood is forging throughout the West, is convinced that Islamic societies can never accept secularism. After all, secularism is nothing less than the framework by which the West defends religious freedom but denies legal and political authority to religious creeds.

» James Cameron—King of Hypocrites
What happened was James assumed he knew much more than he really does. He assumed that there was a mountain of facts and treasure troves of data to back up his global warming claims. He assumed that he would be able to wait until the last moment to load his rhetorical guns.

He was wrong. Because the closer it got to showdown, the more he realized that the mountain was hollow, and the troves were mirage. When the time came to put up or shut up, he didn't have any choice. He had nothing to put up.
