» Wisconsin and the Voter Fraud Agenda

Democrats are pushing to weaken ballot security at the state and national level. Have they forgotten the 2000 election?

That’s a nutty question with which to kick off the article, me thinks.
But I’ll answer it – with a question: Is there a clown in the Senate by the name of Franken?

An attempt to hijack the state’s election laws and open the door for voter fraud failed at the last minute this week in Wisconsin’s legislature. But threats to ballot integrity continue in other states, and Congress may rush to pass ill-conceived legislation this year that would only sow confusion and increase the potential for chaos on a national level.

Wisconsin’s story shows how high the stakes are. Late in March, a 72-page bill was suddenly introduced and rushed forward with only abbreviated hearings. The bill would have given “nationally recognized” community organizing groups access to the state driver’s license database to encourage voter turnout. After the infamous registration scandals involving Acorn in 2008, this was clearly a strange priority. Requests for an absentee ballot in a single election would also become permanent (without requiring a legitimate reason, such as infirmity), and the ballots would be automatically mailed out in future elections.

Coercion and chicanery are made much easier by the excessive use of absentee ballots. Most of the elections thrown out by courts—Miami, Florida’s mayoral election in 1998, the East Chicago, Indiana’s mayor’s race in 2005—involved fraudulent absentee votes.

In 2004, John Kerry won Wisconsin over George W. Bush by 11,380 votes out of 2.5 million cast. After allegations of fraud surfaced, the Milwaukee police department’s Special Investigative Unit conducted a probe. Its February 2008 report found that from 4,600 to 5,300 more votes were counted in Milwaukee than the number of voters recorded as having cast ballots.

» Cooper Union Dues: You Have Disappointed Leader, Serf!

Ms. Lawrence has it exactly wrong: it was Obama who didn’t live up to us. And we haven’t lost our collective nerve. We’re gathering our nerve.

We’re regaining our lost confidence in ourselves, our government, and our institutions. We’re rediscovering our taste for boldness, our eagerness to experiment, our openness to the future after years of ‘leaving it to the experts’.

Just as Obama has reached deep into his Cooper Union past to govern as a Neo-Socialist, we’re reaching deeper into our collective past, recalling the fruitful hours spent by our Framers in Independence Hall, where they deciphered the rules for our Republic–if we can keep it.

» Obama’s Cowardly New World

It is a world where, after everything collapsed when the housing bubble popped, we get to blame the bankers for loaning us the easy money that let us in on it. And impose new shackles on them for letting us do what we wanted to do.

But perish the thought we would rein in Fannie and Freddie, two government-constructed bubble machines that are busy re-inflating housing all over again.

More than $40 billion in GM bailout cash likely may never be recovered. (The feds own 60% of GM, but its stock would have to hit upwards of $60 to $80 a share just for us to break even. Won’t happen, ever.) Yet President Obama says nary a harsh word about GM.

GM has unions and Wall Street doesn’t. The unions helped elect Obama

» Bringing Thunder-ous change to New Jersey

Christie is using his power to remind New Jersey that wealth goes where it is welcome and stays where it is well-treated. Prosperous states are practicing, at the expense of slow learners like New Jersey, “entrepreneurial federalism” — competing to have the most enticing business climate.

In the state that has the nation’s fourth-highest percentage (66) of public employees who are unionized, he has joined the struggle that will dominate the nation’s domestic policymaking in this decade — to break the ruinous collaboration between elected officials and unionized state and local workers whose affections the officials purchase with taxpayers’ money.

» Plain Speaking

Merle Miller wrote a biography about Harry Truman titled “Plain Speaking” and in it Harry’s direct and politically incorrect statements are highlighted.

Imagine today an elected official speaking plainly about the threat of Islam, with historical accuracy? Imagine an elected official looking at the media and telling them to stop being politically correct and telling them that they are cowards and complicit in the demise of our country?
