» Citizens fearing tyranny embracing Second Amendment

You know the nation has reached a bending point when celebrities (other than Ted Nugent) are mentioning guns and tyranny in the same breath – celebrities as disparate as game show legend Chuck Woolery and rapper/actor Ice-T.
“Our Founding Fathers wanted every citizen to be armed equal to the army in case of takeover by a tyrannical government,” Chuck Woolery says on a video posted to his website. “They wanted us to have protection from them.”
Tracy Marrow, better known as Ice-T, was in England promoting a film when the Aurora, Colo., theater shooting occurred. His interview on Channel 4 London quickly veered into a gun control debate when the reporter asked Marrow if he himself owned a gun.
“Yeah, it’s legal in the United States,” he said smoothly. “The right to bear arms is because that’s the last form of defense against tyranny, not to hunt. It’s to protect yourself from the police.”

~~ via Bearing Arms : Facing Tyranny, Embracing the Second Amendment

Civilians are not stockpiling firearms and ammunition, body armor and shelf-stable bulk foods because they feel this Republic is on the correct path. Our federal government and many state governments are targeting our freedoms at every turn. Is it really any surprise, then, that when states such as New York and Connecticut demand that citizens register their guns for future confiscation, that citizens refuse to comply?

Sadly, neither the national media nor their regional echos actually know their constituencies as people, and so they fail to understand the situation or their own tenuous positions. They call for the citizenry to “face the consequences” for refusing to comply with blatantly unconstitutional laws.

They may find themselves unsatisfied at how the citizenry decides to respond to any attempt to aggressively enforce such laws.

» How Communism Works in Streets of NYC: Communist Party USA Announced It Will Slay the Right Wing

Are you living somewhere outside the Big Apple and yawning at news of New York Mayor Bill de Blasio’s (born Warren Wilhelm) communist background and present Progressive leadership of New York City? Time to stop the yawning. No, you and I did nothing to elect him, but another foot is in the door and it may be the Big Foot.

… the Communist Party USA announced this week it will work with every faction of the Left to help slay the Right Wing and keep the Senate path to Socialism void of conservativism

Readers, support bloggers reporting on these dangers. It’s the only way you’ll know what is really going on. Bloggers talk about the de Blasio’s of America every day. They warn. They cry out. Visit, read, comment if you feel comfortable doing so, and pass it on. Don’t be silent. To all those already doing all of the above, thank you, God bless you. We are nothing without readers.

» California’s Drought Isn’t Due To Global Warming, But Politics

Obama visited California’s drought-hit Central Valley Friday, offering handouts and blaming global warming. But the state’s water shortage is due to the left’s refusal to deal with the state’s water needs.

The one thing that will mitigate droughts in California — a permanent feature of the state — is to restore the water flow from California’s water-heavy north to farmers in the central and south. That’s just what House Bill 3964, which passed by a 229-191 vote last week, does.
But Obama’s plan is not to get that worthy bill through the Senate (where Democrats are holding it up) but to shovel pork to environmental activists and their victims ….

California’s system of aqueducts and storage tanks was designed long ago to take advantage of rain and mountain runoff from wet years and store it for use in dry years. But it’s now inactive — by design. “California’s forefathers built a system (of aqueducts and storage facilities) designed to withstand five years of drought,”

Environmental special interests managed to dismantle the system by diverting water meant for farms to pet projects, such as saving delta smelt, a baitfish. That move forced the flushing of 3 million acre-feet of water originally slated for the Central Valley into the ocean over the past five years.

“It’s not global warming that led us to this problem, but math and engineering, because we let 3 million acre-feet of water go wasted over the past five years,” Nunes said. “If we had that water, we would not be in an unmitigated disaster.”

~~ via Gateway Pundit : Califorinia Drought Is Not About ‘Climate Change’ – It’s About Failed Liberal Policy

** California’s water storage and transportation system designed by federal and state governments includes 1,200 miles of canals and nearly 50 reservoirs that provide water to about 22 million people and irrigate about four million acres of land throughout the state.

** In May 2007, a Federal District Court Judge ruled that increased amounts of water had to be re-allocated towards protecting the Delta smelt – a three-inch fish on the Endangered Species List.

** Because of this ruling, in 2009 and 2010 more than 300 billion gallons (or 1 million acre-feet) of water were diverted away from farmers in the Central Valley and into the San Francisco Bay – eventually going out into the Pacific Ocean.

** This man-made drought cost thousands of farm workers their jobs, inflicted up to 40 percent unemployment in certain communities, and fallowed hundreds of thousands of acres of fertile farmland.

** Unemployment remains at a regional average of 17%. With current precipitation at near-record lows, the same regulations will be imposed pushing unemployment even higher.

** The Pelosi-led Congress did nothing to reverse the plight of the San Joaquin Valley and even obstructed repeated Republican actions to reverse the situation. The Sacramento-San Joaquin Valley Water Reliability Act reflects Republican promises to avoid another man-made drought.

» Obama’s despotic rule: Montesquieu knew this would happen

But as Montesquieu stood up to the despotic rule of the king, who will stand up to the despotic rule of Obama?

If no one accepts this mantle and casts down the gauntlet, the constitutional crisis we face will only be exacerbated. The cancer will further metastasize.

» The Inequality of Access

There are two cities and two countries in America; the land of the politically connected who are part of a network that can score anything from millions in cash to open door prisons and the land of the politically unconnected who don’t understand why the government won’t leave them alone. It won’t leave them alone because in a corrupt system, being left alone is a special political favor.

Obama handed out hundreds of millions to the Green Energy tycoons who supported him and dispenses ambassadorships to unqualified bundlers who barely know the name of the major country they have been assigned to. Voters who came out in collective groups for Obama got wealth redistribution paydays. Everyone else got taxed.

There is no equality of access even within the ranks of his supporters. The Obama voter was rewarded with ObamaCare, but the ObamaCare website was outsourced to an incompetent company whose top executive was a pal of Michelle Obama. The company got a six hundred million dollar contract and the ObamaPhone voters got a broken website and hours on hold with operators and navigators.

A thief is still a thief whether he wears a mask, a suit or a t-shirt with a social justice slogan. When people appoint thieves to steal for them, they shouldn’t be surprised when the thieves also steal from them. As the scorpion said to the frog, “You knew what I was when you let me ride.”

» Dear beautiful America, please, stop moving Forward

As much as my family shielded me from their troubles, they couldn’t protect me from factors beyond their control. They couldn’t raise my level of living above theirs. And they certainly couldn’t get me anesthetics for dental visits. Sitting in the gray, sterile corridor for two hours, hearing the sobbing of the kids already in the dental chair as their teeth were drilled without anesthetics, water, or suction, and knowing that your turn was coming — some handled it better than others.

In the local clinic, needles were resterilized and reused. Ambulances took three hours to arrive, if they came at all.
That was our “free” healthcare.

Bread in the stores was the bread. Milk was the milk. Kolbasa was the kolbasa. Everything was manufactured by the state to provide the minimum required survivability, and minimum expected functionality. Improvements in design and the manufacturing process did not exist.

The abacus was still in common use in our stores while American stores had electric change machines, credit card readers, and sliding doors.

… when the janitor receives roughly the same salary as a teacher who is paid roughly the same as a surgeon who is paid roughly the same as a programmer, all of them surrounded by peers who get paid the same no matter how well or poorly they perform, some people start carrying the team, and then they just give up. Everyone performs poorly in the end.

» Bill Ayers bizarrely explains how to ‘teach freedom’ in new ‘Socialist USA’ book

Ayers wants generations of “know-nothing” students, because they’ll become economically unsuccessful adults. In turn, these adults will become good foot-soldiers in the left’s never-ending attempt to overthrow America’s “oppressive” capitalist system and replace it with full-blown socialism.

That’s what Ayers’ entire career has been about

Imagine sitting in a room with 25 people, most of which have graduate degrees, from Columbia and other well-known educational centers, and hear them figuring out the logistics for the elimination of 25 million people.

And they were dead serious.

Conform or die. That’s apparently Ayers’ version of “freedom” – a freedom found only by the socialists’ dictates.

» EPA Bans Most Wood Burning Stoves In a Corrupt Scheme, Fireplaces Next

The EPA’s regulatory determinations lack accountability and transparency which enables them to accomplish through a renegade pattern of actions what they cannot achieve through democratic legislative processes. Will people finally lash out or just settle in to the seizure of all our energy sources except the impractical and costly ones they allow?

» Our State of Police

The police state and the welfare state aren’t answers, they’re denials of reality.

The left can’t fix the social problems that, in some cases its welfare state helped cause. It certainly can’t fix those that predate its intervention. Its efforts are all the more hopeless because it attributes the cause to its usual suspects of capitalism and intolerance so that it never addresses the problems, instead it uses people from failed societies as ammo in a cultural war. The right’s tactics temporarily contain the worst of the violence, but not its expansion or its causes.

Global warming that has not occurred cannot have caused the extreme weather of the past few years :

» Cooling Kills: Governments Must Shift to Cold Preparation

Overall, the NH has witnessed four severe winters since 2000: 2002/03, 2005/06, 2007/08, 2009/10. Most operational forecasters agree that much of this is unprecedented in recent history.

According to the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), this shouldn’t be happening. The IPCC asserted in their Fourth Assessment Report (2007) that, as an impact of the carbon dioxide (CO2)-induced global warming that activists say is still going on:

There is likely to be a decline in the frequency of cold air outbreaks (i.e., periods of extreme cold lasting from several days to over a week) in NH winter in most areas.

Always looking for environmental phenomena to blame on human activities, the White House now says the opposite of the IPCC: man-made global warming caused this winter’s extreme cold.

… 17 years with no global warming and recent very cold winters is a troubling trend, which if it continues will result in serious problems for humanity.

This will be especially true if the current obsession with global warming continues, leaving the public unprepared for cold weather events.

» Climate scientists slam Obama science czar’s ‘pseudo-science rambling’ on global warming

“The idea that any of the weather we are seeing is in any significant way due to humanity’s greenhouse gas emissions verges on irrationality,”

~~ Former NASA scientist Dr. Roy Spencer

Said the Obamabot :

“We’ve always had droughts in the American West, of course, but now the severe ones are getting more frequent, they’re getting longer, and they’re getting dryer.”

Said University of Colorado climate scientist Roger Pielke:

… even a report from the U.S. government said that “droughts have, for the most part, become shorter, less frequent and cover a smaller portion of the US over the last century.” A 2012 paper published in the journal Nature found “[l]ittle change in global drought over the past 60 years.”

» An Open Letter to Oliver Stone

It is easy to crusade for socialism when you do not suffer the struggles many Latin Americans go through every day in search for food, the long lines in supermarkets to secure the most basic consumer products — not to mention skyrocketing inflation and other perils that socialism imposes on individuals. . . . Defending characters like Fidel Castro or Hugo Chávez, as you clearly do in your body of work and public statements, is safe when you know that your private property and the fruits of your labor will not be exploited by the politicians in charge. . . . We would like to share our experiences with you, to illustrate the violence that our governments promote and in the case of Venezuela, openly practice.

Perhaps then you will understand that situations “south of the border” are very different from those portrayed in your documentaries and other propaganda. We would like to publicly convey our utter disagreement with your support towards governments that restrict liberties in our side of the continent. Fortunately, and paradoxically, you will be able to express your opinions freely, even as you support governments that silence everyone who thinks differently.

~~ via NRO : Getting to Know Oliver Stone

Two months before Chávez’s death last year, Stone praised him on CNN, declaring with a straight face: “He represents hope and change, the things that Obama stood for in our country in 2008.”

… Stone, who is producing a biopic on the life of Hugo Chávez, said the American media don’t give Venezuela a fair shake and implied that student protests against the regime there weren’t legitimate. “Venezuela is a democratically elected government. These people who keep protesting are sore losers,” he told the skeptical audience. He said revolutionary changes were needed in the county because rich people still owned so much of it.
