» 2013 Legislative Session Convenes, several pro-gun reforms introduced

House Bill 17, introduced by state Representative Justin Burr (R-67), would remove the prohibition on Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) holders carrying a concealed firearm into any establishment licensed to serve alcohol. In addition, the legislation would make information regarding permittees accessible only to law enforcement.

Also introduced, House Bill 49 by state Representative Phil Shepard (R-15), would prohibit employers from imposing restrictions on employees that would not allow the employees to store firearms and/or ammunition in their locked motor vehicle while parked on the employer’s property.

In the Senate, state Senator Stan Bingham (R-33) has introduced Senate Bill 28, which is similar to the provisions of HB 17 that would offer confidentiality for CHP holders.

My hand is up, I’d like to ask a question, or two.
1 – Would HB17 apply only to concealed firearms?
2 – What steps will this Session take to get these valid bills past the RINOs that previously killed similar bills?

» TTAG Simulated School Shooting Experiment — Results and Analysis

At the King 33 facility in Connecticut, 11 volunteers and five staff members enacted a series of simulated shooting scenarios with the intent of determining whether an armed teacher or armed guard at a school such as Sandy Hook Elementary would have been able to successfully confront and interdict an active shooter ….. care was taken to identify moments during the progression of a “typical” active shooter case where armed intervention may have been effective in interdicting the shooter

…. the armed security guard appears to be ineffective at interdicting the active shooter. While the “shooter” can choose their moment to attack and prepare themselves to fire the moment they are seen by the security guard, the guard has insufficient time to respond.

Based on the limited data collected from this experiment it appears that an armed teacher would save lives in an active shooter scenario. The caveat: the teacher’s effectiveness depends on their level of training. Maximum effectiveness of an armed teacher of any skill level is achieved with advanced warning of the approaching shooter and implementation of a classroom “lockdown.”

Important Note: What was not simulated, as far as I can tell, is the thought process of the shooter in deciding where the shooting would occur.
But we can do that here, right now:

Close your eyes.
Imagine you are a psycho. You desperately want to make a huge psychological impact on society today. You want to kill a bunch of people …. school children. You have two locations to pick from, stages on which to perform your historic act.

School #1, a school where the teachers and staff have been allowed to legally carry concealed firearms. Maybe some of them do. Maybe some of those who do carry are actually trained. But you don’t know. You don’t know which ones are carrying, if any. Maybe …. all of them.

School #2, a school that is still a proclaimed gun-free zone. Chances are there are no armed teachers, no guns at all. The only guns will be the ones you take with you.

Now, are you a stupid psycho? or a smart psycho? Which school will you go to?

The smart psycho would think that if there’s even a small chance that one of the teachers in school #1 has a gun, and he doesn’t know which teacher, then he might not get to kill as many kids as he would like. Or even worse, maybe one or two or three teachers have guns and he might not get to kill any kids at all. That would suck, thinks smart psycho. Maybe he’ll just head on down to the nearest shopping mall instead. Or better yet, maybe he’ll do the world a favor and eat the gun in his own basement.

Of course, the stupid psycho might choose School #1 if the stupid psycho thinks like a liberal and assumes that all the teachers have already killed one another in a fire fight over the comfy chair in the teacher’s lounge.

» Armed guard disarmed teen in Atlanta school shooting
Let’s take notes ….

Police swarmed the school of about 400 students after reports of the shooting

Note 1, police were on the scene – after all the shooting was done. No help.

Schools Superintendent Erroll Davis said the school does have metal detectors …. “The obvious question is how did this get past a metal detector?”

Note 2, metal detectors prevented nothing. No help.

The armed resource officer who took the gun away was off-duty and at the school ….

Note 3, an armed adult on duty stopped the shooter. Much help.

Mayor Kasim Reed condemned gun violence in a statement shortly after the shooting and said counselors were at the school to meet with students, faculty and family members.

“Gun violence in and around our schools is simply unconscionable and must end,” Reed said. “Too many young people are being harmed, and too many families are suffering from unimaginable and unnecessary grief.”

Note 4, politician blames the gun. Still thinks banning guns is the solution. Completely missed the connection of the armed adult and quick diffusion of situation.

» ‘Assault Weapon’ Is Just A PR Stunt Meant To Fool The Gullible

Why do the hard work of actually making a difference, when with no work at all you can perform a meaningless and irrelevant gesture that won’t make any difference? A Connecticut state law already banned assault weapons. The difference that made in stopping the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary: zero, zilch, nada, as the saying goes.

…. where the local population owns more guns, there is less crime. That it is because criminals avoid victims who are or might be armed, and prefer to prey on the defenseless and unarmed, such as in “gun-free” zones. And because the presence of guns that can be used in self defense stops the commission of the more violent crimes, such as murder.

» William & Kate have nothing on Obama

The cost to taxpayers of flying one man, his wife, two daughters and a dog to Hawaii is estimated at $3,639,622. For purposes of comparison, the total bill for flying the entire Royal Family (Queen, princes, dukes, the works) around the world for a year is £4.7 million – or about enough for two Obama vacations.

the presidential dog-walker is one of 226 White House staff earning over $100,000 a year

» The Psychiatric Wolves Attack More Innocent Children

Now that President Obama has decided the expansion of mental health services must be effected to protect us all from people with guns, we are looking up the immediate road at government programs in schools, among other disastrous innovations.

Children are concocted as a prime target for early diagnosis of non-existent mental disorders, because in the past, a number of these children, diagnosed and drugged by psychiatrists, went on to kill people as a result of the drugs’ actions on their brains. That’s called irony. It’s also called a crime, in the very real sense that psychiatrists contributed mightily to the killings.

So now, every child in school who twitches the wrong way or picks up a bubble-gum toy shaped like a pistol, or points his finger at a friend and says Bang, or looks sad and lonely for ten minutes at the back of the class on a rainy Tuesday, or draws pictures when he should be adding numbers in his notebook, or wears odd clothes, or gets angry for any reason at all, or objects to taking a vaccine, or wears a jacket with a small American flag sewn to the shoulder, or doesn’t play well with others, or makes a positive statement in class about the Bill of Rights, or reminds a teacher of a little criminal in a movie, or has a bottle opener in his pocket, or dreams in class about designing a rocket that will take people to Mars…can be referred to a counselor, who in turn will refer him to a psychiatrist, who will make some sort of off-the-shelf diagnosis, which will travel with the child for the rest of his life, making the child believe he has a brain problem, and the psychiatrist will prescribe that child drugs like Ritalin, Adderall, Zoloft, Paxil, or Prozac, drugs that scramble neurotransmitter systems and can very certainly cause that child to go violent.

» Escapees from rights-challenged lands revere 2nd Amd. more than many born here

Some who have come to this nation from countries where forcible citizen disarmament is the law of the land would inflict the same evil here. Those, on the other hand, who turn that experience into the wisdom to resist such tyranny at every turn are far better Americans than many who were born here.

Bravo, Kurt Hoffman! for the choice of the word ‘Escapees’

» Arab-American groups call Coke Super Bowl ad ‘racist’

Arab-American groups have sharply criticized a Coca-Cola Super Bowl ad depicting an Arab walking through the desert with a camel, and one group said it would ask the beverage giant to change it …… “Why is it that Arabs are always shown as either oil-rich sheiks, terrorists, or belly dancers?” said Warren David, president of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee

Awwwww, poor widdle Warren, it got it’s feelings hurt, yes it did. Bad ole Coke! Bad!

Darn you Coca-Cola! There is another stereotypical Arab you could have used:

The Arab Cry Baby

Just in case anyone thinks I’m being racist here, be assured

» Armed task force to patrol streets

“[Police are] going to be in SWAT gear and have AR-15s around their neck,” Stovall said. “If you’re out walking, we’re going to stop you, ask why you’re out walking, check for your ID.”

Stovall said while some people may be offended by the actions of his department, they should not be.

We’re going to do it to everybody,” he said. “Criminals don’t like being talked to.”

Gaskill backed Stovall’s proposed actions during Thursday’s town hall.

“They may not be doing anything but walking their dog,” he said. “But they’re going to have to prove it.”

And if sheep weren’t such stupid little pussies, the shepherds wouldn’t be so despotic.

Once upon a time, the sheep had fangs.
» There will be no frontal assault…

No. They are not going to come after your guns. Not directly anyways. They are not going to do a direct assault on your front door.
…. They are cowering you. Law, after law, after law. Laws that your children will grow up in. Laws that your children will be accustomed to. Programmed to. Growing up into the new camp one generation at a time. You… yourself, have grown up in laws that your grandfather may have scoffed at. And they in turn grew up in laws that their grandfathers scoffed at. The wheels of tyranny maybe turning slowly, but the wheels are turning none the less.

We are NOT our grandfathers. Our grandfathers were not their grandfathers. See where this is going? Where do you think it will end?

They were removed, one tooth at a time, by the shepherd who promised that it would be ok, cause he had a litter of sheepdogs that were going to take care of everything.

So, sheepies. How’s the pen? Nice and comfy are we? We are already getting used to doing without our wool. We’ll get used to gumming our grass.
No more wolves to worry about – they’ve evolved into …. dogs. And we’ll learn not to piss off the dogs.

» JUST LIKE THE NLRB: Lawless EPA “thumbing its nose” at nation’s second highest court

Yesterday the EPA became the second arm of the Obama administration to execute a rhetorical middle-fingered salute to a federal court.

Just days ago the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), responding to a federal Appeals Court that found the president’s recess appointments were illegal, said that it would ignore the court’s order and continue business as usual.

On Thursday, the EPA replied to another federal Appeals Court decision. The court had just thrown out the agency’s mandate to the oil industry that it use non-existent biofuels; the EPA in return metaphorically spit in the court’s face.
