» Salon Attempts to Paint Avowed Communist Lee Harvey Oswald as a “Right-Winger”

Via Salon today comes one of the most truly bizarre pieces of revisionist history I have ever seen, even within the context of articles appearing at Salon. The basic outline of the piece is as follows:
Dallas in 1963 was full of crazy right-wingers;

    1 These people had guns;
    2 John F. Kennedy was shot in Dallas in 1963;
    3 Barack Obama likewise has many right-wingers who oppose him; therefore
    4 It’s only a matter of time before one of them shoots him.

The baseless appeal to sensationalism and emotionalism is the primary (and usually only) tool in the gun control advocate’s toolbox. To that end, I have to admit that this is well played on Salon’s part; every reasonable person of all political stripes in America is legitimately terrified at the prospect of President Joe Biden.

This entire article is a nonsensical mishmash of broken logical connections, slander, and outright historical ignorance. But this is what passes for argument these days among the circle of committed gun control enthusiasts, as it does among the left in general. Thankfully, at least on the issue of guns. Americans seem to have retained their basic common sense.

The head of a gun-rights organization is delivering a lesson on the Constitution to a member of Congress who claimed his statements on the Second Amendment constituted a threat against her.

He cited the Declaration of Independence, which states “whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government.”

He quoted Frederick Douglass: “A man’s rights rest in three boxes: the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box.”
And he called on the wisdom of John Basil Barnhill: “Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. Where the government fears the people you have liberty.”

Finally, he quoted Justice Antonin Scalia: “[W]hen the able-bodied men of a nation are trained in arms and organized, they are better able to resist tyranny.”

“These various statements span four centuries. They come from people of differing ethnicities, of various stations, and holding differing political beliefs,” Pratt wrote. “What they all agree on is that you should go to work every day with a healthy amount of fear and respect for the American people who you are supposed to represent.”

This emotional calculus is misleading because it is an immediate response to a set of deaths. However terrorists are not trading an end to violence for a village or a town. They are calculating how many deaths it will take to force Israel to abandon that village or town. And once they have it, they will use it to inflict more terror on another town or village, this time using rockets.

The entire carrot and stick of the peace process and the suicide bombing, the final agreement that never comes and the final solution that is coming, were designed to wear down Israelis, to make their leaders and people chase down empty hopes and argue among themselves over who is to blame because there is still no peace.

The last few decades were meant to create a sense of helplessness among Israelis.

Terrorist tactics work best when they create complicity on the other side. The first wave of complicity comes from leftist activists and sympathetic terror lawyers making human rights arguments. But the second wave of complicity has to come from the authorities for terrorism to be successful.

CNN, for example, was accused of doing Hamas’ bidding by reporting on children being killed in the conflict with no mention of the schools being used by Hamas as military bases.

The Obama White House’s record on Israel has been the worst in recent memory, but even they have standards below which they won’t stoop.

Last night’s resolution approved an international inquiry into Israel’s supposed “war crimes” in Gaza It did not mention Hamas. Not once.

When Neuer mentioned the Assad regime’s murder of nearly 2,000 Palestinians, Syria’s delegate objected, requesting that this insolent truth-telling be immediately silenced. Neuer regained the floor and closed with this barb:

“Let the world note that in a session purportedly on Palestinian human rights, the government of Syria objected to us mentioning the 1800 Palestinians that they starved and murdered.”

The CBO score confirms that the president’s $4.3 billion emergency request is not warranted. CBO reports that only $25 million of the president’s request would be spent in fiscal year 2014 and the remaining funds would not be spent until the next fiscal year or in the out-years.

First a couple of word definitions:
Unforeseen means unexpected, not anticipated, not predicted
An emergency is “an unforeseen combination of circumstances or the resulting state that calls for immediate action”. the keyword there is ‘unforeseen’ and the current debacle being labeled as an emergency (the tsunami of illegal aliens washing over our borders) is anything but unforeseen.

If (THHO)Obama truly didn’t see it coming, then he wasn’t paying attention to the thousands of predictions, anticipations and expectations and forecasts that have been at his fingertips since years before he invaded the white house.
When (THHO)Obama uses the word emergency in this context he’s lying.

Let’s consider the definition of another word:

    ca·tas·tro·phe noun \kə-ˈtas-trə-(ˌ)fē\
    : a terrible disaster
    : the final event of the dramatic action especially of a tragedy
    : a momentous tragic event ranging from extreme misfortune to utter overthrow or ruin
    : utter failure : fiasco

Ok? Now we’re using words that are applicable. The deluge of illegal aliens flooding across America is a catastrophe, the result of dramatic action by the disaster known as President(THHO)Obama.

Remember that it was one of (THHO)Obama’s original henchmen that coined the phrase Never let a crisis go to waste. Left unsaid was “… whether or not you created the crisis” and the implication is “… and squeeze as much money as you can from the idiot taxpayers; usurp as much power as possible”.

If this Congress (of idiots) is stupid enough to give (THHO)Obama $4.3BILLION (more) of our money to use as he pleases, I am utterly confident that at some point in the near future I will be able to point back to this post and say “See? I told you he was going to piss it away on a wide assortment of freebies and handouts and bailouts of his cronies and parasitic base – while the illegal alien flood was not only unchecked but was actually merely the leading swell of the real and unobstructed tsunami to follow.”

Ultimately though, stopping the flood of children at our borders requires better immigration enforcement policies and a president that is willing to enforce the law.

And then, as if on que, pop goes the weasel:

The progressive action to take when water is up to your nose? Declare it to be air, continue breathing as normal. And then declare the fish swimming in the air as the result of global warming.

That was said with the assumption that EPA’s actions are governed by an agenda to the save the planet – I beg to differ, I say that real, true environmental protection is of no consequence to the socialists that staff the EPA.
