» Hide-and-seek hypocrites on the Hill

…the “DISCLOSE Act.” The voter’s instinctive reaction should be: What are they trying to hide now? Drafted out of public view with left-wing lobbyists and rammed through Congress after bypassing committee hearings, this bum bill would have been better named the CLOSEDDOOR Act.

“(I)f you’re a company with a government contract of over $10 million (like more than half of the top 50 U.S. companies) or if you’re a company with more than 20 percent foreign shareholders, you can’t even mention a candidate in an ad for up to a full year before the election. … There are no similar prohibitions for unions representing government contractors or unions with foreign membership.”

…this is a jobs-protection bill for entrenched incumbents more interested in protecting their hides than protecting the Constitution.

How did North Carolina senators vote?
Senator Burr (R) voted “No”. Senator Hagan (D), voted “Yes! Let’s muzzle the people, stifle that free speech, exclude them from political debate.”

Well, how did you think they would vote anyway? Hagan has marched in perfect step with HopeyChangey Boy from the beginning.

» So much for transparency.
Transparency? If you wanna see through a dhimmicrat, make a hole. There is no transparency.

Under a little-noticed provision of the recently passed financial-reform legislation, the Securities and Exchange Commission no longer has to comply with virtually all requests for information releases from the public, including those filed under the Freedom of Information Act.

The law, signed last week by President Obama, exempts the SEC from disclosing records or information derived from “surveillance, risk assessments, or other regulatory and oversight activities.” Given that the SEC is a regulatory body, the provision covers almost every action by the agency, lawyers say. Congress and federal agencies can request information, but the public cannot.

We’ve learned, in the last 2 years, that it takes months to comb through the kind of legislation being squeezed out by this dhimmicrat congress; to find what’s been hidden therein.

Funny how quick the SEC found their blessings in this one, eh? It almost makes you think perhaps they knew it from the get go?

» King: Clinton-Appointed Judge Issues Obama-Friendly Ruling in Arizona Illegal Immigration Case

“With the possible exception of illegal immigrants in Arizona, the people cheering the loudest about Judge Bolton’s injunction can be found in the Obama Administration,” said King. “By blocking the most important enforcement provisions of Arizona’s law, Judge Bolton has apparently decided that Arizonans’ lawful attempts to protect their lives and property is of secondary importance to protecting the Administration’s political standing among open borders advocates. I doubt Judge Bolton’s ruling will survive an appeal, and, for now, the Obama Administration should consider itself lucky to have had its day in court in front of a judge appointed by the Secretary of State’s husband.”

» Dems fear GOP oversight of Obama administration

Staffing numbers aside, the core of Franken’s charge is that Issa will carry out a “witch hunt” to bring down President Obama. By “witch hunt,” Franken is referring to what Republicans call “oversight.”

WikiLeaks: Mike sums my feelings rather well:

The scum-sucking cockroach who runs Wikileaks — hiding … behind the skirts of the Swedish government like the miserable coward he is — and his sources within our own military are the ones responsible. They ought to be made to pay for it in full. They ought to be hung from the nearest available gibbet and left to swing until the carrion-birds are done reducing their stinking corpses to the appropriate vile mess.
The day justice is truly done and vengeance exacted on one and all of these loathsome vermin will be a happy one indeed.

» Pigford v. Glickman: 86,000 claims from 39,697 total farmers?

I’m confused.

If there are only 39,697 African-American farmers grand total in the entire country, then how can over 86,000 of them claim discrimination at the hands of the USDA? Where did the other 46,303 come from?

Even if there was a 100% turnover, and every single farmer went out of business every five years and was replaced by a new farmer (extremely unlikely), there still wouldn’t be enough black farmers throughout the entire period combined to account for the number of claimants.

It seems, no matter how you look at it, that a substantial number of the 86,000 claims must necessarily be fraudulent.

Why can’t our urban teens simply challenge one another to a bout of old fashioned fisticuffs? Why is the yellow-bellied act of shooting an unarmed boy in the back of the head seen as the proud and manly thing to do? Why aren’t such people ridiculed as pansies and pantywaists — I mean, besides the obvious reason that they will shoot you if you say anything.

Andrew’s “mistakes”? WHAT “mistakes”? Sherrod’s “vindication,” meager though it actually was, was included in both the “edited” original video and in Breitbart’s post. He was more fair and cautious with her than she deserves. He actually went out of his way to point out that she had seen the light, however dim a light it turns out to have been. She still makes gross assumptions about people who aren’t dyed-in-the-wool Leftists, assumptions that ought to be repellent to any truly open-minded, tolerant person. Her epiphany turned out to be a pretty damned piddling one in the end.
