» Gun Owner Bigotry Being Fought Against In The Sunshine State

The desire to be free, to enjoy liberty, to sever the yolk of tyranny…these are not choices. These are inherent in me from my birth. And the ONLY way that I can live my life following the aforementioned endowments I was bestowed with by both the law of nature and my Creator is to be properly armed against those that would threaten my liberty.

In other words, in regards to being a gun owner…I was born this way.

In Florida, the state Senate has just passed bill 424 that protects gun owners from discrimination by Insurance companies for being gun owners.

I Like Guns

» Surgeon General’s authority over gun policy is beside the point

The NRA’s decision to influence senators through their announced intention to “score” a “Yes” vote for Murthy’s confirmation has, not surprisingly, drawn a great deal of criticism in the mass media, much of which is centered on the assertion that the office of the Surgeon General has no authority over gun policy, so gun rights advocates should not care about a gun ban extremist holding that position.

The point being (deliberately?) missed here is that the Surgeon General speaks with the federal government’s voice on health issues (and even on what are dubiously claimed to be “health issues”). Even without direct power to set policy, the Surgeon General is presumably thought to have some influence, else why have the position at all?

The next time Congress debates a proposed new gun law, how likely is it that an anti-gun lawmaker will not try to bolster his or her position by citing the Surgeon General’s expressed support for the newest infringement on that which shall not be infringed?

The ‘other’ point being missed is the relatively recent meme of “mental health” issues being placed in conjunction with “allowing access” to guns, and the number of pro-gunners that have fallen for it. It’s an easy-out of the conversation.
It sounds good to say don’t control my guns, just control the nuts – until some surgeon general comes along and decides you are the nut because you have a gun.
I guess it takes too heavy a nutsack to just say that in a real world, if armed nuts go postal, everyone around them is armed and will eliminate the threat, post haste.

Case in point, as they say:
» Unrepentant school killer appeals life sentence because he was a minor when he murdered

An unremorseful Ohio teenager who opened fire on his classmates in 2012 is appealing his life sentence on the basis that he was 17 at the time, and shouldn’t have been tried as an adult.

TJ LaneT.J. Lane pleaded guilty to killing three students in the cafeteria of Chardon High School east of Cleveland in February 2012, and was sentenced to life without parole at a hearing in which he taunted his victims’ families …

“The hearing took place inside a courtroom where a smirking Lake wore a T-shirt with ‘killer’ scrawled across it and gestured obscenely toward the victims’ families during his sentencing …

Can we all agree that this guy is a nut? And then, how can one argue that if somebody else at that school had been in possession of a gun (and the guts to use it), this piece of trash would be a two-year old box of Purina Worm Chow.

» Judge tells ATF to fuck off

“A mouse is not an “elephant” solely because it has three characteristics that are common to known elephants: a tail, gray skin, and four legs. A child’s bike is not a “motorcycle” solely because it has three characteristics common to known motorcycles: two rubber tires, handlebars, and a leather seat. And a Bud Light is not “Single-Malt Scotch,” just because it is frequently served in a glass container, contains alcohol, and is available for purchase at a tavern.”

» No tears, no cheers and no more Piers

… spent his final four minutes on the air Friday blasting the right that they contend has kept this nation free — and saved his nation more than once — by insisting that guns belong “on a military battlefield…not in the hands of civilians.

Perhaps that’s what Morgan’s ancestors thought on that April 19 afternoon on their long march back from Concord and Lexington, when civilians with guns in their hands pursued Redcoats with powder and ball all the way back to Boston. It was the first attempt at government gun control on American soil, and it didn’t work out too well.

It’s our country, our laws, and he’s a guest. He can remain here and act like a guest, or he can go to someone else’s country and annoy them for a while.

Liberals don’t have the political leverage to repeal the Second Amendment. So they deny us our right to bear arms by increments. The more power they have, the larger the increments.

» Obama Administration: We Never Mean a Word We Say

No, it cannot happen. It will not happen. The Obama administration absolutely, positively will NOT extend the deadline to sign up for Obamacare.
This isn’t even a laugh line anymore. It’s just an eye roller

» Obamacare’s Failings, Rangel’s Ramblings, Dems’ Depression

the only people still required to participate in Obamacare are those who couldn’t pay for insurance from the get go. Does any of this make sense to you? This illustrates why legislators should READ the stuff they vote on BEFORE they cast their vote.
… it is really disheartening to think that so many voted for Obamacare without reading it. It is way beyond disheartening to think how those legislators who voted for Obamacare and may have actually read it first (if any) must be blindingly stupid. How did these people get near the levers of power in Washington? It’s creepy to contemplate.

» Valerie Jarrett to Hollywood to Get Obamacare in Movie, TV Scripts

When your product is a total piece of she-Ite, and you’ve been forced to morph it so far beyond it’s original prototype that it’s not recognizable by it’s original fabricators, and you need to bring in the A-Team representatives of American culture to sell it for you, and THIS is your idea of mainstream America …..

“Somebody please whip my ass ….. me too!”

… and then you don’t understand why the president of Russia just laughs his ass off everytime you stomp your foot and squeal.

“You’ve been reaching out to people that are, you know, outside of the norm of what the president might work with.

Did you mean, Outside the norm of what a real president should be working with? or a pansy-puss that sits cross-legged on TV …. wearing shoes like that?
Excuse me while I throw up something I haven’t even eaten yet.

» The Fake Obamacare Endorsement Game

Think about what conservative imagines a conservative to be, as opposed to what a progressive imagines a conservative to be.
Think how a conservative would describe himself, as opposed to how a progressive would describe that conservative.

What would a progressive say, if he were trying to “think like a Republican”?

Well, he wouldn’t talk about conservatism being empowering for the individual — no, it’s progressivism that’s empowering for the individual. Government empowers the individual. So he wouldn’t say limiting government empowers the individual, that as the state shrinks, the individual grows, and as the state grows, the citizen diminishes.

That’s anathema to him. He couldn’t bring himself to say that even when pretending to be a conservative.

So what would he say?

» How the Worm has Turned

The American people, by a large majority, hate this law.
Millions of Americans have lost the health insurance that they liked and were perfectly happy with.
Millions of Americans are discovering that the “free” health insurance they were expecting with the passage of Obamacare is not only not free, but super expensive.
People are angry.
And when people are angry, they tend to want a little payback against the people who pissed them off.

And there stand the Democrats.

A preferred ploy of left-wing change agents is to ridicule critics when they point out the undeniable parallels between the goals of today’s “progressive” movement, to include the Democratic Party in general, and the goals of the early, and very much still alive, communist movement.

If, for instance, one mentions the historical fact that nearly every adult who, at any time, was in any position of influence over a young, soon-to-be-radicalized Barry Soetoro was an avowed communist, to include his own parents, then one is immediately mocked and dismissed as a neo-McCarthyite hack pining for the bygone days of the Red Scare. This is an evasive, ad hominem strategy employed by those who are caught, for lack of a better word, red-handed.

To all this I say, if the jackboot fits, wear it. If it quacks like a commie and goose-steps like a commie, then a commie it is.

» The 900

Three years after we were assured the recession was over, underemployment stands at 13 percent, 7 million Americans have dropped out of the labor force, our debt has topped a fantastical $17 trillion, and GDP growth barely touches 2 percent. Great Britain now has a higher labor-force participation rate than the United States. The nation’s health-care system is in increasing disarray thanks to an imprudent, utopian plan that has solved few of the problems it set out to reduce while introducing heartless uncertainty for millions of others. Meanwhile, this president, far more than his predecessors, acts in capricious and lawless ways, deciding by personal whim which elements of law he will ignore. In response, the so-called media eagerly follow his college-basketball picks and record his personal shopping sprees.

» Not All the Fracking News Is Good

As always in the case of energy resources, politics trumps economics or, at minimum, seriously affects economic outcomes. In Mexico, oil is regarded as the national patrimony, not to be plundered (i.e., developed) by foreigners. In much of the Middle East, oil is regarded as a “weapon,” to be unsheathed if nasty consuming countries need a lesson in the vulnerability of their economies to supply shortages and price spikes. In Russia, natural gas is a tool to be used in the reconstruction of something approximating the Soviet Union or Russian Empire. Here in America, administration policy towards oil and gas is affected by the conviction that fossil fuels are responsible for climate change, and must be phased out as the transition to renewables is completed. Everywhere and always, oil and politics inevitably mix.
The president of the United States and his Secretary of State believe that climate change, to quote Secretary Kerry, “is the world’s most fearsome weapon of mass destruction.” More fearsome than Iran’s nukes might be or North Korea’s nukes are; more fearsome than Assad’s chemical weapons; and certainly more fearsome than the 845,000 Russian troops at the ready should Russians living in what Putin calls his “near abroad” be attacked by a mob egged on by imported Russian agitators.

» Klavan: A War of Words Against Liberty

… until they can use the full police powers of government to crush the individual citizen’s ability to live out the meaning of his creed, the left’s best technique for talking us out of our liberty is twisting words into weapons of mass deception.

Leftists are good at this — great at it, rather. They are experts at describing things as they are not. If a policeman uses his experiential wisdom to pick a suspicious person out of a crowd, it is “racial profiling.” If a man enjoys female beauty, he is “objectifying women.” If the government seizes your money in order to finance its corrupt and outlandish attempts to buy voters and reward friends, why, you’re just paying your “fair share.” It is difficult to argue against “fair,” or in favor of “profiling” and “objectifying.” The words are lies in themselves. You have to deconstruct them just to get to the point.

Like all tyrants, the Obama administration and its leftist fellow travelers do not want their grand utopian schemes frustrated by the beliefs of mere individuals. But we cannot let them tatter our Constitution with a fusillade of lies.
