So much Stupid packed into two paragraphs. Only a soft-handed college professor, educated far beyond the limits of his intelligence, could be so dense.

» Robert Siegel: Guns don’t belong on campuses

Students in North Carolina are allowed to keep concealed weapons in their cars on UNC campuses. This is a disaster waiting to happen.

Guns have no place where learning promotes the free exchange of ideas. Guns should not be readily available in a setting where a fair amount of alcohol consumption takes place. I can imagine a heated argument becoming lethal with a firearm close at hand.

If students can’t be trusted with a gun, they probably can’t be trusted with the cars they’re allowed to keep guns in. Note that Siegel doesn’t take the risk of suggesting that alcohol “has no place”. While stating that his campus is “a setting where a fair amount of alcohol consumption takes place” he can’t be bold enough to put the same energy into reducing that as he does in whining about the possibility of a few students having the audacity and courage to assume responsibility for their own protection. He can imagine a heated argument between two or more drunks (a feat not requiring high intellect, or in lay terms – duh!) but he can’t imagine a student not being drunk, not getting into an argument and not marching out to the parking lot to retrieve a weapon.

How many of those students doing the “fair amount of alcohol consumption” are under 21 years of age?
How many of the students with guns in their cars are under 21 years of age?
Answer those two questions, Mr Siegel.

» US appeals court upholds gun laws after Newtown massacre

… court found Connecticut’s ban on a non-semi-automatic Remington 7615 unconstitutional. And it said a seven-round load limit in New York could not be imposed even as it upheld other bans on magazines.

Count me in the group of people that can’t seem to find the reference to magazines or cyclic rate in the Constitution. Maybe I’m just biased by the end of that one sentence that says “… shall not be infringed[.]”
Note emphasis on the period.

Here’s the Quote of Maximum Stupid

“At a time when many Americans have abandoned hope of government’s ability to address gun violence in our schools and on our streets, Connecticut’s laws — and today’s decision — demonstrate that willing states can enact meaningful reform to improve public safety without violating the Second Amendment,” Jepsen said in a statement.

Jepsen got it wrong in both directions. No improvements in public safety were achieved because killers, being killers, don’t give a flip what the law has to say about their hobbies. And yes, the 2nd was violated.

Wait, I was wrong. Here’s the Quote of Maximum Stupid

The appeals court said gun rights groups’ claims that the ban on assault weapons will primarily disarm law-abiding citizens was “speculative at best, and certainly not strong enough to overcome the substantial deference we owe to predictive judgments of the legislature on matters of public safety.”

Because, as I said, killers being killers, don’t give a flip what the law has to say whereas law-abiding citizens do. That’s why they’re referred to as “law-abiding citizens”.

But I have to say, that quote shore did use some purdy soundin’ words. Did it not?
“substantial deference” and “predictive judgments” aside, laws are obeyed by the law-abiding and broken by the law-breaking. That is not speculation, Ole Hoss.

» SICK: The Gross Device Bathrooms Across America Are Getting Just to Keep Muslims Happy

School prayer? Sorry, no can do. Displaying the Ten Commandments? Again, nope. Using taxpayer dollars for a communal foot-washing stall on a college campus for Muslim students? Sure, why not!

The author of this article is implying there’s a double standard being applied to Christians and muslims. But it’s not really a fair comparison because the Constitution says nothing about Separation of State and Murdering, misogynist, pedophile CULTS.

“Moral Equivalence Fiction”

In his briefing to the Security Council, Mr. Tayé-Brook Zerihoun, Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs, did at least condemn the attack on Joseph’s Tomb. But then he tried to explain away the wave of Palestinian violence in general as stemming from the “persistence of the occupation and the diminishing prospects of achieving Palestinian aspirations for statehood.” He also threw in the “continued and expanding settlement activities” as contributing “to the anger and frustration driving the violence we are seeing today.” Finally, he added the widespread unfounded fears in the Muslim world that “Israel is aiming to change the status quo at the holy sites.”

UN senior officials are not only silent in the face of the daily Palestinians’ murderous rampage against innocent Israelis. They are offering pathetic rationalizations for the violence, which in actuality is fueled by hate spread by Palestinian social media and taught to Palestinian children in their schools and in the TV programs they watch.

“Palestinian leaders have established an incubator to raise children as terrorists,” Israeli UN Ambassador Danon said. During his remarks to reporters, he held up a picture providing children a graphic pictorial demonstration on how to stab a Jew. “We talk about a lot about incitement- here you see what Palestinian incitement looks like. This picture is what is being taught in middle schools,” he said.

There’s an old computer/video game out there that takes 20 years to play to finish. And nobody ever told me about it.
Well, either that or UN officials and liberals are just mind-bogglingly blind, stupid and ignorant.

bogglingly? Is that a real word?

“Palestinian aspirations for statehood” – That’s a phrase used by people that can’t be bothered by history. The people that refer to themselves as palestinian have been offered statehood on a diamond-studded silver platter in dozens of peace proposals by Israel. All of which were flatly denied. Palestinians don’t care about statehood. They only care about killing Jews. Period.
And if/when they manage to kill all the Jews they would employ the same enthusiasm in killing each other.

Meanwhile, we are still tolerating the presence of the U.N. on American soil.

“Settlements” are Jews living in parts of Israel captured by the invading Muslim armies in 1948, from which Jews were ethnically cleansed, and then retaken and liberated by Israel in 1967. A Jew living in a part of Jerusalem from which Jews were driven out in 1948 is a “settler” who “frustrates” Muslims.

And who can blame Muslims for taking an axe or a knife to those frustrating Jews? Not John Kerry.

“Frustration” is one of the most common excuses for Muslim violence. Most frustrated people just punch a wall. It takes a special sort of person to respond to frustration by ramming into a bus stop and then hacking at an elderly Rabbi with a cleaver or stabbing a 13-year-old boy on a bike.

» Israel Must Deport the PLO

The only reason the 80-year-old dictator of the PLO has a new $13 million palace, even while claiming to be short of funds, a $100 million bank account and a 1,000 member presidential guard is because of the same agreement with Israel that he just disavowed.

Now Abbas has made it official. He disavowed the accords and set off a new intifada in which Muslims hack at Rabbis with meat cleavers or sink knives into the necks of teenage girls. Abbas lights the match and then plays the victim. He praises the “martyrs” who shoot toddlers and then his representative demands UN action.

It’s time to deport them all.

» Sears stops selling “Infidel” hats after Muslim complaints

Islamic supremacist Imraan Siddiqi complained to Sears about the hats, and it was apparently his complaint alone that was enough for them to remove the hats from sale. After he succeeded in strong-arming Sears into removing the hats, he screamed “Allahu akbar”

So why did Sears cave so readily? Because Sears doesn’t know or care about any of this. Sears just wants to make money. It doesn’t want to have a big controversy, and denunciations of racism, and boycotts, and all the rest of it that Siddiqi and his sinister ilk can make happen. It knows that Islamic supremacists carry weight with the media (cf. this TPM piece) that the defenders of freedom cannot muster. And so, predictably, it threw in its lot with its bottom line.

In other words …

You Get What You Tolerate

» 700 “Refugees” Dumped on Dutch Village of Oranje, Population 140

When you’re calling on courts to settle “scientific disputes”, you’re not engaged in science, but in totalitarian control of science. When you want to censor critics using the power of government, you’re just another dictatorship.

Environmentalism has mostly been a tool of state power. The Global Warming craze has made a lot of well connected people very rich, but also offers the opportunity to exploit an imaginary crisis for a level of control over people’s lives without precedent in human history.

This isn’t about science. It’s about money, ideology and power.
