» ‘40% of gun sales proceed without background check’: Gun grabbers’ favorite lie

One of the most stubbornly persistent statistical lies in the gun rights/”gun control” debate has been that “90% of guns recovered at Mexican crime scenes are from the U.S.

With so many to choose from, it baffles me how anyone could point to a specific gun-grabber lie as the favorite – nevertheless …

this little talking point was based on a March, 2009 statement by Deputy Attorney General David Ogden, who actually said that 90% of the recovered guns submitted to the BATFE and successfully traced (which even gun ban fanatic John Kerry said was only 25% of those recovered at Mexican crime scenes) were from the U.S.–a very different proposition.

Lemme Summit Furya: only 25% of Mexican crime-scene weapons were suspected by investigators [in Mexico] as having originated in the U.S. and were sent to ATF for verification. Even then only 90% of that 25% were found to have come from U.S.
If we apply some real numbers we can get an idea of the magnitude of error in the 90% lie:
Pick a number … and say there were 1,000 guns found at Mexican crime scenes. The Mexican authorities determine that 25% of them could have come from the U.S, which means they know the other 75% did not.
Then 250 of those guns (25%) are sent to the ATF for verification who can only identify %90 of those 250 guns as having been purchased in America … 225 of them.
Of the original 1,000 guns used illegally in Mexico only 22.5% of them actually came from the U.S.

There is a whole heap of guns between that actual 22.5% and the 90% statistic (900) that has been used by our government to justify confiscation of our Constitutionally protected arms. It was a blatant lie to begin with and was [peated and repeated repeatedly] as a statistical fact by numerous members of the current socialist regime. Hillary Clinton used this lie several times and it became one of the main excuses for launching the Fast & Furious treachery that got Americans killed.
S’matter o fak, it is very possible that the entirety of the 22.5% were there due to the corruption and ineptitude of the ATF.
Then one of the ATF-supplied guns killed a U.S. Border Patrol agent.

But getting back to it …

Eventually, this essential point became sufficiently widely known (no thanks to the mass media) that the supposed percentage kept getting lower, and when challenges to even the lower figures made even those claims untenable, the people making them suddenly said that actual percentages were a “red herring,” and beside the point. This, of course, ignores the fact that the “red herring” was their claim, and that they would certainly have never stopped shouting it from the rooftops as a vitally important fundamental truth had it not been so thoroughly debunked.

These days, the “90%” figure (or 80%, or whatever they think they can get away with) isn’t seen so much. The percentage we are now hit over the head with day after day is “40%.” Specifically, “40% of gun sales proceed without a background check.”

And that too is another blatant lying manipulation of poor statistics.

While it is necessary to continue revealing the lies of the anti-gunners, questioning every proclamation they issue, the number one question that Americans should be asking themselves (and answering) is why does our government really want us all disarmed?

» Washington Times to sue Homeland Security…Dirty tricks only Nixon could Love

Homeland Security, along with Maryland police, raided the home of former Washington Times reporter and two time Pulitzer prize nominee, Audrey Hudson. The raid was ostensibly about guns that her husband may or may not have had, but instead of confiscating guns, they stole all of Hudson’s notes on her investigation of the US Marshal Service.

These notes included documents she received through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and her notes on confidential sources and whistleblowers, who fed her details on the problems within the Homeland Security Department.

The warrant did not allow for the seizing of unrelated documents. Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, and Barack Obama used this ruse to continue their policies of intimidation.

The documents stolen from Hudson were eventually returned but by then Janet and Barry knew the names of everyone that squealed on them.

» Watch Your Guns Around Obamacare

In January, Obama issued 23 executive actions and orders regarding firearms. Order 16 stressed that Obamacare does not prohibit doctors from asking patients about their firearms, and the fact sheet includes, “Clarify that no federal law prevents health care providers from warning law enforcement authorities about threats of violence.” What constitutes a “threat of violence” could be very arbitrary. This puts doctors in a difficult position by suggesting they act as pseudo-law enforcement agents. It is damaging to doctor-patient privilege. If doctors have a patient with PTSD or mental illness, and they fail to ask the patient about their firearms, or report them to law enforcement, they could be on the hook later. It encourages them to err on the side of snooping into their patients’ guns. This is especially troubling considered the definition of mental illness keeps expanding.

Under Obamacare, federal agencies like the ATF can still pore over health records and determine who has mental issues or PTSD. There is nothing in Obamacare that prohibits another federal agency from compiling a database of gun owners.

Gun Owners of America warns that the next step will be linking insurance with gun ownership. Some private insurers, including State Farm and Prudential, drop homeowners from their policies for owning certain types of guns or not using trigger locks. It’s not difficult to see how this could be adopted as a requirement of Obamacare in the vague name of “health.”

» Sonoma Deputies Kill Thirteen Year Old Boy Carrying Toy Gun

This is wicked behavior. In Colonial times men were expected to carry their weapons to church worship services and practice afterwards with the rest of the community. Today, LEOs will, at the slightest provocation, properly interpreted or not, gun down little boys where they stand for carrying toys. The important thing of course is that the LEOs got to “go home at the end of their shift.”

The mother asks, “Why did they kill him? Why?” Because they can. Grieve for your lost little boy, Mrs. Cazarez, and we will grieve for the loss of our country to agents of Satan. Now watch the blue wall close in behind these cops, these child murderers. Watch it happen, and tell me if a single cop tells the truth or holds anyone accountable. Tell me if a judge or jury finds these men guilty of anything? No, the strongest response will be from totalitarian lawmakers who want to make it illegal to have or sell toy guns.

Watch it happen.

» Government is Magic

It’s hard to have a functioning technocracy without engineers. A technocracy made in Silicon Valley with its complete disregard for anything outside its own ego zone would be bad enough. But this is a Bloombergian technocracy of billionaires and activists, of people who think that “progress” makes things work, rather than things working leading to progress. showed us that behind all the smoother and shinier designs was the same old clunky government where everything gets done because the right companies hire the right lobbyists and everything costs ten times what it should.

If the government can’t build a health care website, how is it going to actually run health care for an entire country is the obvious question that so many are asking. And the obvious answer is that it will run it the way it ran the website. It will throw wads of money and people at the problem and then look for programs it doesn’t like to squeeze for extra cash.

» Obama to GM…Kill the Pontiac or no Money

… in order to get federal money, GM had to agree to kill the Pontiac, despite the fact that the G8 was getting rave reviews and selling well, the introduction of a G6 and a new GTO in the pipeline.

Federal money is our money. Yours and my money. Extorted from us by the same tyrants that forbid a supposedly privately-owned manufacture from producing the very product that we may wish to buy with what little money is left over from the extortion.

» From One Obamacare to Another

At a time when most Americans want Washington to focus on the economy and the federal budget deficit, the President is attempting to foist another massive Obamacare-style bill on us in the form of the Senate-passed amnesty bill.

It is abundantly clear that the end goal is for the House to pass any bill — anything to get to conference with the Senate where a comprehensive, amnesty-centric bill is inevitable.

Via GRNC Alert 10-27-13:
» Unlawful Gun Registry Halted

At the last two Charlotte gun shows, GRNC learned that Chief Rodney Monroe, of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), was attempting to unlawfully record gun sales. Monroe had concocted a “CMPD Gun Show Gun Purchase Form” and had CMPD officers distributing this form at gun shows, demanding its use by dealers purchasing guns from individuals. Internal CMPD communications suggested intent to apply the form to private sales as well. The use of this form would have effectively created a gun and gun-owner registry. Worse, promoters speculated the requirement might spread to other cities.

The “CMPD Gun Show Gun Purchase Form” was distributed under the pretense of applying a statute for “Pawnbrokers and Cash Converters.” The only problem is, vendors and private individuals at gun shows are neither Pawnbrokers nor Cash Converters. Immediately upon learning of the scheme, GRNC president Paul Valone fired off a letter to Chief Monroe to inform him, in no uncertain terms, that the requirement was unlawful and would not be tolerated. Valone cited the law and clearly explained its true meaning. He insisted that the CMPD cease this unauthorized activity immediately, or face legal action from GRNC. (To see the full letter, go to:

We are happy to report that Chief Monroe blinked: According to a conciliatory and apologetic call from CMPD Maj. Mike Smathers, CMPD will stop using the form. Facing the threat of legal action, Chief Monroe saw the light, and has agreed to immediately end his illegal data collection at gun shows.

GRNC is pleased to be able to claim victory in this critical battle to ensure cities comply with the law. If this effort by the CMPD was not nipped in the bud, this overreach of police authority may very well have spread to other areas of the state. Said Valone to the media: “We are here to deliver a message that the days when North Carolina bureaucrats could ignore the law and run their own private fiefdoms are over.”

CMPD cobbled together an anti-gun policy from bits and pieces of actual but irrelevant laws.
Just another example of the ignorance of too many law enforcement officials. Whether under the influence of personal prejudice or guidance of leftist politicians, they attempted to create de facto gun registration law and then enforce it.
Hey, that sounds like ATF don’t it?

» Armed Arizonan Stops Mass Shooting

In the wake of several high-profile mass shootings, the political left has been perpetually up in arms regarding the ostensible danger of gun ownership. The tragedy, however, is that most of these deadly rampages took place in so-called gun-free zones, meaning the maniac shooter was the only armed person present.

When a law-abiding gun owner is present at the scene of such senseless violence, however, the results can be much different.

» Breaking: A Mass Shooting Did NOT Occur

… if the partygoers had been forced to wait for the police to arrive and deal with the angry young man with a rifle, how many people would be dead? Sadly, this is not considered newsworthy for that very reason – no families are mourning innocent victims today.

The mainstream media is far more interested in shootings that perpetuate the current gun hysteria …

Responsible use of weapons does not promote the gun control agenda, even though responsible gun owners save lives. Only the tragedies make the news.

… if we didn’t post SOME cartoon this morning, we were afraid that readers would think that we’d given a Canadian firm (and one of Michelle Obama’s classmates) a few hundred million dollars to revamp the website, and that in the future you’d be forced to call a live operator to hear someone talk nasty about the Obama administration.

Nope, it’s just a somewhat slow news day…which we should savor while we can. Especially since Barry has given Israel almost no choice other than unilaterally attacking Iran within the next few weeks.

» Ted Cruz: Employers Hiring Illegals Under Gang of 8 Bill Are Wholly Exempted from ObamaCare Penalties

This speech from the U.S. Senate floor by Senator Ted Cruz is undated, but was clearly before the Senate’s Gang of 8 immigration bill passed. Cruz tries to offer an amendment to fix an “indefensible” problem with the bill but is not allowed to do so

… an amendment that would have corrected one of the most egregious aspects of the Gang of 8 bill. Namely, it is a penalty that is imposed on U.S. employers for hiring U.S. citizens and for hiring legal permanent residents.

It is a striking result of the Gang of 8 bill as it intersects with the ObamaCare legislation. Let me explain how it operates.
