» U.S. Government Used Taxpayer Funds to Buy, Sell Weapons During ‘Fast and Furious,’ Documents Show

Not only did U.S. officials approve, allow and assist in the sale of more than 2,000 guns to the Sinaloa cartel — the federal government used taxpayer money to buy semi-automatic weapons, sold them to criminals and then watched as the guns disappeared.

Ah geez!
This is embarrassing.
Auntie Bev stuck her chicken foot in her beak this time, and made the top headline of DrudgeReport.

» Governor Bev Perdue of North Carolina Wants to Cancel Elections

“You have to have more ability from Congress, I think, to work together and to get over the partisan bickering and focus on fixing things. I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that. The one good thing about Raleigh is that for so many years we worked across party lines. It’s a little bit more contentious now but it’s not impossible to try to do what’s right in this state. You want people who don’t worry about the next election.”

Until I see a tape or at least hear the audio, I will assume that it was a joke … a very stupid joke … exactly the kind of stupid we’ve learned to expect from her.

Drawing inspiration from Carmen on WRDU Rush Radio: shall we now be able to make ridiculously stupid and possibly illegal statements without repercussion by simply calling it a “Bevvie”? As in “it’s time to stomp some liberal butts … hay, only joking. Oops, I made a Bevvie.”

» Germany slams ‘stupid’ US plans to boost EU rescue fund

Germany and America were on a collision course on Tuesday night over the handling of Europe’s debt crisis after Berlin savaged plans to boost the EU rescue fund as a “stupid idea” and told the White House to sort out its own mess before giving gratuitous advice to others.

Mr Schauble told Washington to mind its own businesss after President Barack Obama rebuked EU leaders for failing to recapitalise banks and allowing the debt crisis to escalate to the point where it is “scaring the world”.
“It’s always much easier to give advice to others than to decide for yourself. I am well prepared to give advice to the US government,” he said.

» Health insurance costs deal blow to Obama

The cost of health insurance has surged in the US this year, according to a survey of employers, dealing a blow to claims by the Obama administration that healthcare legislation introduced last year would curb costs.

There is a worrying disregard of basic economics, and the national interest in the blind pursuit of leftist environmentalist ideology. The appearance of corruption may just be an appearance, but the administration is busily picking winners and losers, and the winners just happen, coincidentally, to be big Democratic donors.

» New Term For an Obama Fib: He ‘Over-suggested’

The competition for minimizing the reality of President Obama’s words and actions in the media is fierce. After all, Solyndra, according to the Associated Press, is an “embarrassment.” Heaven forbid that anyone in the establishment press call it what it really is: a “scandal” and, as described by Andy McCarthy at National Review, a “fraud.”

Then there was the AP’s May description of Obama’s failure to comply with the 60-day requirement to seek congressional authorization for continuing to have U.S. troops involved in Libya under the War Powers Act. In this instance, AP told its readers that Obama was merely “skipping a legal deadline.” Uh, no; he was breaking the law.

In July, Kevin Sack at the New York Times wrote that during the 2008 campaign and the runup to the passage of Obamacare, Obama had “mischaracterized a central anecdote about his mother’s deathbed dispute with her insurance company,” leaving “the clear impression that his mother’s fight was over health benefits for medical expenses.” In other words, he made audiences believe that his mother didn’t have health insurance as she fought ovarian cancer, when she did. There’s a three-letter word for this. It begins with “L,” ends with “E,” and has the ninth letter of the alphabet in the middle.

Add Bruce Siceloff’s “over-suggested” howler to the list of nominees for the Obama Administration Whitewash Hall of Shame. Paraphrasing the late Roy Scheider in “Jaws” (“we’re going to need a bigger boat”), when it comes to the just-mentioned Hall of Shame, we’re going to need a bigger building.

Liberals are all about seething emotion. They are happier when they hate. Bush-hatred has more or less worn out: perhaps even Democrats got tired of Obama trying to blame everything on Bush. It doesn’t seem to work as a campaign theme anymore. But hatred of the rich — that works. When the Wisconsin public sector unions were screaming epithets and beating drums to keep from having to pay co-pays on their insurance — their most effective attack seemed to be on the Koch brothers who had nothing to do with it, but had the useful quality of being rich.

Markets are continuing to collapse, unemployment climbs, and Obama’s poll numbers sink among practically everyone, for differing reasons. Conservatives think he’s incompetent. Liberals think he’s too weak on conservatives. They don’t want any of that “can’t we all just get along” stuff that they preach when it’s convenient. They want war, and they want it now. And the most effective attack strategy seems to be to hate the rich.

Give em what they want.

» Why Does the Good Life End?

Why is it more moral for a federal bureaucrat in a state-supplied SUV to shut down an offshore oil rig on grounds that it is too dangerous for the environment than for a private individual to risk his own capital to find some sort of new fuel to power his government’s SUV fleet? All affluent societies believe that they are just too rich not to be able to afford another regulation, just one more moralizing indulgence, yet again an added entitlement. But as we see now in postmodern America, idle 250,000 acres of farmland for a tiny fish, shut down an entire oilfield, put off a new natural gas find in worry over possible environmental alteration, add a cent to the sales tax, mandate yet another prescription drug entitlement not funded, or offer yet another in-state tuition discount to an illegal alien — and the costs finally equate to an implosion as we see in Greece or California. And as we know from past collapses, a new entitlement in a matter of minutes becomes an institutionalized right whose withdrawal causes far more anguish than its prior nonexistence

» Obama Fundraising Suffers Huge Drop-off

This helps explain the vitriol Obama has been dumping out on the campaign trail. He needs to get people motivated to send him their money, and if he can get the hating thing going – hate Republicans, hate the rich, hate EVERYONE – maybe they’ll part with some cash.
