The New Racism
Three black students reported they were assaulted on a bus by white people. Physical assaults along with verbal assault including racial epithets.
The story made headline news and the usual leftists went into full combat mode.
However, it shouldn’t surprise any reasonably intelligent and cognizant person that after minimum investigation, it was found that the charges of assault were not only wrong but actually backwards.
Also of no surprise is the failure of the media to follow up.
Here, CNN does a follow up of sorts but misses some very important points:
» Upstate NY students who claimed bias attack plead not guilty to charges
Attorney Mark Mishler, who represents Agudio, said in a statement that the charges are “unwarranted.”
“It is also unfortunate that some in the media and public appear to have reached a conclusion as to what occurred in this incident without actually having the information needed in order to reach such a conclusion …”
Note that Mishler is not talking about the conclusions jumped to by media and public after the initial reports by the three blacks. No. No. No. He’s saying we’re making false conclusions concerning the three blacks.
In other words, to Mishler and his black client, the conclusional jump [is that a real word?] made in bias against the whites on the bus were justified and natural; presumably because all whites are racists anyway and even if they didn’t act on it they wanted to.
But conclusions we may have about the three blacks are not justified. Just because evidence now indicates the three blacks not only lied about being assaulted but were in fact the aggressors, that is no reasonable foundation for making the conclusion that the three blacks were the racists.
Because as we all know now, after about a decade of brainwashing, only whites can be racist.
“What happened on the bus was not a ‘hate crime,'” Wiley, the university police chief, said. “The only person we heard uttering racial epithets was one of the defendants.”
Did you catch that? At first, the whites on the bus were guilty of ‘hate crime’ for physically assaulting blacks while uttering racial epithets. But now it’s the blacks on the bus who physically assaulted whites while uttering racial epithets but they are NOT guilty of ‘hate crime’.
I’m sure Al Sharpton could explain away the logical conflicts here.
